Do you wish you could respond vs react when things trigger you in life? We can “rewire” our brain to work for us instead of against us. One way to do this is through focused visual meditation or PQ reps. You can do this with your eyes open. Choose anything in your space… a flower, a person on your Zoom meeting, your pet, the road in front of you, etc. Focus your attention on the color of whatever you are seeing. Notice the texture and shape. When your brain starts thinking or judging, come back to what you observe. What do you notice when you’re in do this practice a few times a day?

Join a group of amazing women on a journey to find more peace, joy, well being and better performance in your work and life. We will be embarking on this adventure on Thursday, April 4th.

We will train our brains to work FOR us instead of AGAINST us. We will share practices, perspectives and tools that can be used throughout our lifetimes in this 8-week experiential group learning and coaching experience.

This journey is about...

It’s so easy to think that we are too busy to do something, or feel overwhelmed by commitments. “I don’t have time” is something that many of us hear in our heads many times throughout the day as we do our daily routines.

Many of us are accustomed to being too busy for the things that matter most to us. Sometimes it’s because the priorities of others seem more urgent or important. Sometimes it’s because we’ve said yes to things that we don’t really want to do. And sometimes it’s because we don’t actually know (or have forgotten) what matters most to us.

Many of us fill our lives with things that promise us happiness and may give us that for a moment, yet leave our hearts yearning for something more that we can’t quite describe.

Today I invite you to give yourself two minutes to check in with yourself...
- How am I feeling?
- What could I do to take care of myself (especially during this season where we are often focused on giving to others)?
- Where could I set some boundaries (or make requests) to care for my needs so I can show up better for everyone (including myself)?
- If this were my last day on this planet, what would matter most?

Regardless what you do for yourself today, I would invite you to gift yourself more time to YOU in the year ahead! Whether it’s saying yes to the Mom Pod Mental Fitness Jumpstart program, or something else, the practice of "putting on your own oxygen mask first" works.

Is the busyness of the holiday season already having you craving for the moment that it’s all over? Or maybe you are relishing in it’s every moment with all the fullness and fun it brings?

At any given moment, we can make a different choice if what’s happening isn’t working. We also get to make a choice about how we respond to everything that life “gifts" us…the good, and especially those things that we might consider to be bad.

Life is a series of highs and lows with much of it fluctuating in-between. At any given moment, the amount of peace and joy we experience is our choice. WE get to choose how we see and feel about what happens, and thus how we respond. The gifts don't always come immediately…they will come in time if we are open to seeing them.

Today I invite you to pause when something “bad” happens. Then, decide what might serve you most…
- Take a breath.
- Allow yourself to feel all the feelings. If feelings are data, what are your feelings showing you?
- Take a short break from the “bad” thing, person or event.
- Move your body in some way.
- Go out in nature.
- Consider what you might need.
- Ask for help.
- Set a boundary to take care of yourself, if needed.

Then make a choice about whether you want to accept what’s happened and let it go, or convert it to something better.

Giving ourselves a moment to reset when “bad” things happen can help us move out of the fight/flight/freeze reaction, and allow us to choose to move into a response that will better serve us.
