My mission is to help you understand that your brain controls your mind and body. If you have challenges of your mind and body then you need to go to the source. MindOverExplicitMatter.com

Your children are learning what safety feels like through you. They may forget the vacations, gifts, and celebrations. But what they’ll remember is how it felt to be around you.

🧠 When your brain is hijacked, it’s easy to become distracted, reactive, and disconnected. Your child notices more than you think. On Father’s Day, choose the gift of a healthier brain for you and your family.

After more than 50 years in this country, the hubs officially became an American citizen today. 🇺🇸

This journey wasn’t without its bumps. At one point, he hit a frustrating roadblock in the process and sent all of our friends a text with an 🇺🇸👎 emoji. It pretty much summed up how he was feeling in that moment.

Today, that emoji officially changed to 🇺🇸👍🏼.

What I loved most is that he didn’t quit. He stayed patient, kept moving forward, did what needed to be done, and eventually got to stand, take the oath, and earn the reward on the other side.

As for our family, we showed up exactly as you’d expect—dressed in red, white, and blue and waving American flags. Looking around, I don’t think another family brought flags, but we’re pretty used to being that family. 😂

What a special day. So proud of him, his perseverance, and yes… the dopamine that comes from accomplishing something meaningful after working for it.

Declan took that candid photo of me and I love it. That’s what peace looks like.

Your brain got too used to dopamine on demand.

Scrolling. Fast content. Constant stimulation. Now real life feels “boring” because your brain expects intensity all the time.

That’s what overstimulation does: normal life starts feeling emotionally flat. Because your brain got hijacked by overstimulation.

This week, Seamus and I purchased a small home in his college town.

Watching him see his name on the deed reminded me of something: big goals change you long before you achieve them.

🧠 The brain loves certainty, which is why it often talks you out of the very things that could change your life.

Believe in the goal before there’s proof. Your future self will thank you.
