They say the Universe speaks in signs and symbols, not words. I’ve been diving into the symbolism of colors and making my own color dictionary.

It’s no secret that my art and Reiki practice are completely intertwined. When I give Reiki, it’s like the back of my eyelids becomes a movie screen filled with colors and symbols.

In my world, the color purple often represents spiritual wisdom, enlightenment and connection with the divine.

When I see purple in a painting, especially during a Reiki session painting, I immediately feel like a higher knowing is surrounding me. It brings me instant peace because it reminds me I don’t have to figure it all out on my own. I’m supported and loved by the divine.

Fun fact: I’m an anxious bunny. I painted this turtle to hang in my home as a visual reminder to SLOW MY BUTT DOWN. Will it work? I hope so!

Turtles have been a big part of my summer this year, especially sea turtles. I’ve been reading and learning more about them. As a symbol, they really resonate with me. Their message seems to be slow down, trust your wisdom, and follow your inner compass.

As for calling in this reminder, you can have a visual representation like me or even meditate with them in your mind’s eye. Just thinking of them slowly gliding through the ocean slows my breath.

They say the Universe speaks in signs and symbols, not words. I’ve been diving into the symbolism of colors and making my own color dictionary.

It’s no secret that my art and Reiki practice are completely intertwined. When I give Reiki, it’s like the back of my eyelids becomes a movie screen filled with colors and symbols.

In my own session this morning, purple brought me great peace and calm. Every time I do this on myself, the colors are different and reflect exactly what I need in the moment.

It’s no secret that my art and Reiki practice are completely intertwined. When I give Reiki, it’s like the back of my eyelids becomes a movie screen filled with colors and symbols.

The color green often represents growth and abundance. Makes sense when you think about it.

I pulled out my paintings with heavy green. I paint intuitively, without a plan. How wonderful that green came through the brush with these pieces at times in my life when I needed it!
