Patient Spotlight 👏👏. Congrats to Trinity McDevitt on her prestigious accomplishments. Whether it’s her academics, cheer, or her rehab - she attacks it with determination and hard work! Good luck!

Congratulations to LHS Class of 2026 Valedictorian Trinity McDevitt on being selected as a Class of 2030 Yeager Scholar at Marshall University!

“These students have already distinguished themselves through exceptional achievement, but the true promise of the Society of Yeager Scholars lies in how its students choose to use their gifts. As we welcome this 40th cohort, we celebrate not only their accomplishments, but the knowledge, empathy and sense of responsibility they will bring to a world that abundantly needs thoughtful and principled leaders.” - MU Honors College Dean Brian Hoey

Welcome our student, Gage Long, from WVU’s DPT program. He’s completing a 10 week clinical rotation with us and he’s doing a great job. We are always excited to get our local people back home. Here he’s learning early use of blood flow restriction (BFR) during exercise and ROM after UCL reconstruction (more to come!)

If you do lots of repetitive activity, your thumb-sided wrist pain could be a result of tendon inflammation. From athletes to every day work, overuse or repetitive injuries can really slow you down.

🔑 Early: Reduce irritation/calm pain by activity modification and active rest. A basic thumb spica wrap or brace can keep the thumb calm.

🔑 Then: Regain range of motion and strength once pain is under control.

Just getting the new knee bending after total knee replacement isn’t enough. Restoring normal knee extension has a huge impact on walking normally, reducing impact on the joint, and regaining full quadriceps strength.

Keys to early rehab after ACL:
🔑 Decrease pain and swelling ✔️
🔑 Restore and maintain FULL extension ✔️
🔑 Re-ignite quad function and restore gait ✔️

This guy is checking all the boxes.

Love seeing the long term follow-ups on the patients. We've seen quite a few patients during these studies and have a room full of ACL reconstructions now. Seeing these folks go from fearful and limited to returning to their sport is extremely rewarding.

Your foot and heel pain isn't just an inflammatory condition. Stretching and rolling the arch on a frozen water bottle isn't enough. Plantar fasciitis can be highly painful and can significantly limit your ability to perform activity. While flexibility is often an issue, reloading the tissue after symptom relief is important to get back to normal and avoid recurrent issues.
