We had a fantastic time at the past weekend! Our residents all presented their research projects and our faculty all had informative and interesting presentations as well. We got to catch up with Storm Eye alumni who traveled near and far for this conference! Can’t wait for next year! 🌴

What an incredible week that we had in Belize! Two of our senior residents and went with Dr. Barnwell , where they spent the week seeing patients and completing 23 cataract surgeries over the course of 3 days. Many thanks to for inviting us and supporting us - the experiences and the friends we have made along the way will stay with us for a lifetime! Congratulations to for getting her license - we look forward to seeing all the wonderful care you will provide for these lovely patients.

Huge shoutout to .usa for donating the CataRhex machine and making cataract surgery possible. We are incredibly grateful to our local reps for helping us obtain the necessary medications and medical supplies. We couldn’t have done this without you all!

Here Comes the Sun... and your South Carolina advocates at the annual Mid Year Forum 👁️🇺🇸☀️

We have Maya Dodhia, PGY-2, representing MUSC Storm Eye Institute, and Hunter Harrison, PGY-4, representing Univeristy of South Carolina's ophthalmology residency. Dr. Heitman and Dr. Baker also came to advocate for SC!

We met with legislative staff on Capitol Hill to discuss issues affecting the practice of ophthalmology, including CMS cuts, scope of practice, vision research funding, and much more! 11/10 experience and would do it all over again.
