I'm so grateful to the board members, volunteers, and facilitators that make the great piercing migration possible. I'm grateful to everyone who attended and who had down to earth conversations with me about what it means to be a piercer, why we do what we do, and how we can do it best.
I had the same conversation multiple times throughout the week. "I'm embarassed." "I know I need to," "I'm not good enough." Some of these conversations happened like they were apologizing TO ME of all people, like I'm some sort of bastion of knowledge or perfection.
Guuuuuurrrrllll. (Or guy, or theybie) we're all just doing the best we can. Us piercers from small towns, or economically depressed areas, have a different kind of struggle.
I will NEVER be a primarily gold studio, because that's not what my client base can afford, but I'm still gonna be the best damned piercer I can be for them, and have as many titanium options as I can to fit all budgets.
We will never learn from one another if we're embarassed to talk about what we're currently working with and workshop small ways to move in the right direction once we know better.
If these are conversations you want to have, my DMs are open. I can tell you HOW I DID IT and WHAT WORKED FOR ME, and maybe help you bounce ideas around to see what works for you.
Even small progress is progress and can help with that spinning-your-wheels, stuck-in-a-rut feeling
