Let's Walk

Let's Walk Let's Walk is a local non-profit bringing neighbors together to walk; inspiring meaningful connections and active living.

Let's Walk is always recruiting volunteers to make it possible to get more people outside appreciating our beautiful surroundings. As a volunteer you will undergo a background check and a 1 hour training session you will then be issued a badge. You will arrange your own schedule to walk with people in your neighborhood when you have the availability. We are hosting training sessions in various loc

ations if you do not see one near you please send a message and we will get something scheduled. Walkers will need to be assessed by a licensed therapist to make sure that you are safe to participate in the program. Whether it's a walk to the mailbox, around the block or a mile we are so happy to help you get outside! Volunteers will meet the walkers at their door, they will never go into the house, they can help you down your steps if needed. Walkers, canes, rollators or any other devices are great if you need them to walk safely.

✨ Volunteer Spotlight: Penzola ✨

This Volunteer Appreciation Week, we’re celebrating Penzola and the incredible heart she brings to Let’s Walk. 💙

“Let’s Walk has enhanced and enriched my life through meaningful human connection. I already loved walking for both enjoyment and health, but getting to walk alongside someone as they work toward their own wellness goals has made every step even more meaningful. Knowing I’m supporting someone on their journey has given my walks greater purpose and has positively impacted my own life too.”

One of Penzola’s favorite Let’s Walk memories is watching a participant recover after a stroke. Witnessing their progress—and seeing how compassion and consistent walks helped change their outlook on their health—has been incredibly rewarding.

Penzola walks with Romeo, one of the oldest participants in our program. His dedication and commitment continue to inspire her every week.

💙 Thank you, Penzola, for your kindness, encouragement, and unwavering commitment to our community. Volunteers like you remind us that every walk has the power to make a lasting difference.

🎉 It’s here! The Let’s Walk app has officially launched!

We’re so excited to make it even easier for our walkers and volunteers to stay connected, schedule walks, and continue building community one step at a time.

A very special thank you to Aaron Fritsch, who generously built this app entirely pro bono. Aaron dedicated countless hours, shared his expertise, solved every challenge that came our way, and consistently went above and beyond to bring this vision to life. We truly could not have done this without him, and we’re incredibly grateful for his talent, generosity, and belief in our mission.

Ready to get started? You can download the app using the link on our website or through the link in our story.

Thank you to everyone who has supported Let’s Walk. We can’t wait to keep walking with you! 💙

Volunteer Spotlight!! 💙💛

When Andrea first joined Let’s Walk, she thought she was signing up to make a difference in someone else’s life. What she didn’t expect was just how much the experience would change hers.

Since being paired with Jackie in April 2024, the two have completed 250+ walks together, building a friendship filled with laughter, stories, and unwavering support.

“When I began, I thought my Let’s Walk volunteering time would only benefit my walking partner, but I’ve benefited just as much—if not more. Jackie and I started walking in April 2024 and have developed a wonderful relationship. We really enjoy our time together! I work from home, so I especially appreciate the social interaction. Jackie and I both love to laugh, and she’s a great story teller. With over 250 walks, I’ve had the opportunity to hear some really fun stories. During one of our walks, Jackie’s neighbor stopped us to give us kudos for our commitment and asked how we came to be walking partners. We were glad to tell her all about Let’s Walk!” – Andrea

For Jackie, joining Let’s Walk meant finding the confidence to walk again after the pandemic.

“Andrea and I have become ‘besties.’ She keeps me accountable, and even on mornings when I’d rather stay in bed, I know she’ll be at my house ready to walk! I really love the Let’s Walk program and encourage other seniors who don’t like walking alone to join. The program not only provides physical activity but also develops long-lasting friendships.” – Jackie

Andrea, thank you for your kindness, consistency, and the joy you bring to every walk. 💙 And Jackie, thank you for reminding us that the best journeys are the ones we take together.

This Fourth of July, we celebrated the freedom to connect, move, and build community!

At Let’s Walk, every walk is a reminder that independence doesn’t have to mean doing life alone. Whether you’re a volunteer, walker, supporter, or cheerleader from afar, thank you for helping create a community where older adults feel seen, valued, and connected. We hope everyone had a safe, joyful, and happy Fourth! 🇺🇸✨
