Kinship Holistic Therapy was created from the belief that healing happens in safe, connected relationships.
So many people move through life carrying overwhelm, anxiety, grief, people pleasing, burnout, or disconnection while believing they simply need to “push through.”

We believe therapy can be a space to slow down, become curious, and reconnect with yourself in a gentler way.

At Kinship, we value whole-person care — honoring the emotional, relational, physical, and nervous system experiences that shape our lives.

Whether you’re navigating motherhood, life transitions, relationship challenges, anxiety, or simply feeling emotionally exhausted, you deserve support that feels compassionate and collaborative.

We’re grateful you’re here.

Summer with kids home used to feel like something to survive. This year, I'm flipping the script. No morning rush. No lunchboxes to pack. No watching the clock. Just slower. If you're dreading the chaos of summer, what's one thing you can actually look forward to instead?

Mental Health Awareness Month is a good time to ask yourself: what do I actually believe I deserve?

Not what you know intellectually. What you feel in your body when you slow down. When you rest without finishing the list first. When you ask for help before you're desperate. For a lot of us, the nervous system learned early that safety had to be earned.

Pay attention to this: what is your nervous system signaling to you right now?

When your relationship doesn't feel like it once did, it can feel earth shattering. The joy, the connection, the safety, all of it feeling like a distant memory while you keep falling into the same painful cycles over and over.

Here's what we know: tools are great, but a pruning shear can't fix root rot.

That's why we use Emotionally Focused Therapy, to get beneath the surface. EFT helps couples understand that the cycles they fall into aren't villains, they're just strategies that stopped working. And with the right support, those same cycles can become bridges back to each other.

There is a roadmap. There is hope. And you don't have to figure it out alone.

Some days you'll feel strong, capable, like you've finally figured it out. And then something small will knock you sideways, and you'll wonder if you've made any progress at all.

Healing isn't a straight line. It's not about never struggling again. It's about building capacity to move through the hard moments with a little more gentleness, a little more understanding of what your body needs.

You're allowed to have hard days and still be healing.
You're allowed to need support and still be growing.

You don't have to walk through the hard parts alone.

Mother's Day can hold so much.

For some, it's flowers and brunch and easy warmth. For others, it's grief sitting quietly at the table. A complicated relationship. All of it is allowed here.

If Mother's Day brings up more than you expected, that's not weakness. That's your heart telling you something true.🤍

Your emotions aren't too big.
Your needs aren't too complicated.
Your story isn't too messy.

Somewhere along the way, you might have learned that taking up space was a problem. That needing support meant you were a burden. That feeling deeply made you difficult.

But here's the truth: You're not too much. You've just been in spaces that were too small.

Healing happens when you find people and places that can hold all of you. The grief, the joy, the questions, the contradictions.

You deserve that kind of space.

We're so excited to introduce you to Ellis Pitts, the newest member of the Kinship team.

Ellis brings a holistic, trauma-informed approach to therapy. One that honors the full picture of who you are. She works with teens, young adults, and adults navigating questions of identity, purpose, healing, and the kind of life they want to build moving forward.

Her path into counseling grew out of her own healing journey, and she understands how powerful it can be to have a space where you're deeply seen, understood, and supported.

A few things about Ellis:
🌊 Carolina girl through and through (born in Charlotte, raised in Greenville)
🎨 Loves anything creative. Drawing, painting, exploring art!
🏔️ Feels most restored in nature, especially near mountains or water
🏄♀️ Attempting to learn how to surf (her words!)

Ellis draws from CBT, attachment-focused, and trauma-informed perspectives. She's here to walk alongside you in your healing journey, wherever you are.

Welcome to Kinship, Ellis. We're so glad you're here.

If you've ever felt disconnected from your body, your pleasure, or your sense of what you're "supposed" to want, this book is a gift.

'Come As You Are' by Emily Nagoski is about so much more than s*x. It's about understanding how your body works, what it needs, and why shame has no place in that conversation.

She talks about stress, context, and the ways we've been taught to ignore our own nervous systems. It's compassionate, science-backed, and deeply validating.

A reminder that you're not broken. You're human. And your body's responses make sense.
