Located in Charleston, WV, we are looking for an enthusiastic Optician to join our team. Responsibilities:

As an Optician, you will play a vital role in helping patients achieve their best vision while providing an exceptional customer experience. Responsibilities include:

* Assisting patients in selecting frames, lenses, and lens enhancements based on their prescription, lifestyle, and visual needs
* Educating patients on lens options, coatings, specialty products, and eyewear benefits
* Taking accurate optical measurements including pupillary distance (PD), segment heights, and frame adjustments
* Processing eyewear orders and ensuring accuracy throughout the ordering and dispensing process
* Verifying completed eyewear for prescription accuracy and quality before delivery
* Adjusting, repairing, and troubleshooting eyewear as needed
* Assisting patients with eyewear warranty concerns
* Maintaining an organized, attractive optical showroom and inventory
* Utilizing practice management software to document orders, payments, and patient information
* Working closely with doctors and team members to ensure a seamless patient experience
* Delivering outstanding customer service while building long-term patient relationships

Qualifications:

•High school diploma or GED required.
•Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
•Proficiency in computer usage.
•Strong customer service orientation.
•Basic math skills.
•Exceptional attention to detail.
•Maintain a professional appearance.

*ON THE JOB TRAINING, PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE NOT REQUIRED - looking for motivated individuals and willing to train*

Position Details:

•Full-time position.
•Workdays: Monday to Friday.
•Competitive hourly pay, commensurate with experience.

Bittersweet day at the office as we said goodbye to student doctor Hank from KYCO on his final day with us! 👓

Hank has completed his last clinical rotation and is now one step closer to officially beginning his career in optometry. We’ve truly enjoyed having him here—his dedication to patient care, eagerness to learn, and positive attitude made him a wonderful part of our team.

Next stop: Vision Source Tifton, where he’ll be joining his father in practice—such a special full-circle moment!
