Last night, Dawn and I had the opportunity to attend the Going Places Gala here in Charleston, and it was such a beautiful reminder of what can happen when a community comes together with heart. šŸ’›šŸš²āœØ

The mission behind Going Places is incredibly impactful — helping provide brand-new bikes to children throughout our community and giving them something every child deserves: joy, freedom, confidence, and connection. This year alone, they are working toward providing 2,500 bikes to kids across the Lowcountry. šŸš“ā€ā™€ļøšŸ’« (goingplacesgala.org)

We left feeling inspired, hopeful, and deeply grateful for the people in Charleston who continue showing up to support one another and create meaningful change. Building community connections matters. Nights like this remind us that even small acts of kindness and collective support can create a ripple effect far beyond what we see.

Also… it was nice to dress up, laugh, dance, and simply enjoy the evening together while continuing to meet such amazing people doing beautiful work in our community. šŸ’šāœØ

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and I committed to walking every day this month for the Bridge the Gap campaign with Quest. šŸ’š

To be honest… it hasn’t been easy.

I started the very first day of May sick, and there were a couple of days my body was asking for rest. The last few days, it took a lot to push myself to get outside and move… but I did it. And every single time, I felt a little better afterward.

Sometimes healing doesn’t look big or dramatic.
Sometimes it simply looks like putting one foot in front of the other. 🌊

Whatever you’re going through right now, please know this:
You are not alone.

We all carry things people can’t always see. Heavy seasons. Grief. Stress. Fear. Exhaustion. Life transitions. Heartbreak. Anxiety. Healing.

So today, take a moment to breathe. Step outside if you can. Feel the sun, listen to the waves, notice the sky, and remind yourself that even small steps still count.

One step at a time. Every step matters. šŸ¤

And if you need support, reach out. Call me. Message someone you trust. Connection matters.

If you need immediate support or are in crisis:
šŸ“ž Call or text 988

This week feels heavy… and hopeful at the same time.

On Wednesday, I walk into court for my son.
A moment that could shape his future in ways I can’t fully control.
Like so many parents, I’m standing in that space between fear and faith—hoping he gets the help he truly needs, not just another cycle.

And at the very same time…
there is so much light breaking through.

We are preparing to launch BRAVE next month—something born from pain, loss, and the deep knowing that families shouldn’t have to walk this road alone.

We’re also stepping forward to share our story at the Quest walk for mental health month in May on Memorial Day—something that once felt impossible, now feels necessary. Because if our story helps even one person feel less alone… it matters.🌟

Life has a way of holding both.
The heartbreak and the healing.
The uncertainty and the purpose.

I’ve walked through things I never thought I’d survive… and somehow, I did.
And if you’re in a hard season right now, I want you to hear this:

Keep going.
Keep trying.
Keep moving forward.

Even when it’s messy.
Even when it’s uncertain.
Even when it hurts.

There is still something ahead for you.
There is still meaning in your story.

And you are not alone šŸ’ššŸ™šŸŒˆšŸ˜‡āœØšŸ’«šŸ¦‹
God is available 24/7 and I’m only a call away🫶

April is Occupational Therapy Month šŸ’–šŸŽ‰āœØšŸ¦‹

Occupational Therapy has over a century of history, originating during World War I, when practitioners supported injured soldiers in returning to meaningful daily activities through therapeutic, purposeful engagement.

Today, OT continues to focus on helping individuals participate in the activities that are meaningful and necessary to their lives—through restoration, adaptation, and environmental modification.

What continues to evolve is our understanding of the whole person.

In my practice, I integrate occupational therapy principles with holistic approaches, including nervous system regulation, mindfulness, and subconscious work—supporting not only physical function, but emotional resilience and overall well-being.

Because meaningful engagement is not just about what we do—it’s about how we feel, how we function, and how we connect.

Occupational therapy meets people where they are… and helps them return to what matters most.

I’m honored to be invited to speak with students at the College of Charleston.

I’ll be sharing a blend of my personal story and simple meditation practices—creating space to slow down, reconnect, and bring awareness to what’s happening within.

As an Occupational Therapy Practitioner, founder of Wide Awake Holistic Healing & Coaching and co-founder of BRAVE, I’ve seen how powerful it is when we pause long enough to listen—to our bodies, our thoughts, and our inner voice.

Through BRAVE, we’re working to bring resources, awareness, voice, and empowerment to individuals and families—because support shouldn’t start at crisis.

Opportunities like this remind me how important community truly is. This is exactly what we need—more connection, more conversation, and more spaces where people feel supported simply being human.

Grateful to be part of it.

This one is personal šŸ’š

BRAVE — The Alex & Jon Project didn’t start as a business idea.
It started from lived experiences, from witnessing pain, and from recognizing how many individuals and families are quietly struggling without enough support.

I’ve spent years working closely with people navigating physical, emotional, and mental health challenges. And one thing has always stood out:

So many people don’t need to be ā€œfixedā€ā€¦
They need to be supported, understood, and not feel alone.

That’s where BRAVE was born—something Dawn and I felt deeply called to create together.

BRAVE exists to bring Resources, Awareness, Voice, and Empowerment to individuals and families—while promoting mental wellness, early support, and stronger community connection.

Our vision is simple:
Communities where mental wellness is openly supported—and no one feels alone.

We are officially launching in May 2026, and planning a community kickoff event in September here in Charleston.

But more than a launch…
This is about building something meaningful, together.

If you’re a:
• Mental health professional
• Community leader
• Local business
• Or someone who simply cares

We would truly love to connect.

Because this work isn’t meant to be done alone either.

I’m looking forward to participating as a vendor at the Carriage Lane Collective Wellness Event this Saturday in Charleston.

This community-centered, family-friendly event brings together local wellness practitioners, live music, and resources designed to support mind, body, and emotional well-being. It’s a meaningful opportunity to come together, learn, grow, connect with community—and meet other professionals who are passionate about supporting others.

At my table, I’ll be sharing more about my work through Wide Awake Holistic Healing & Coaching. I bring a background in Occupational Therapy, along with intuitive energy healing, subconscious reprogramming, mindfulness practices, and life coaching, to support individuals navigating stress, life transitions, and personal growth.šŸŒ»šŸŒ¹šŸ’«

I’ll also be sharing more about BRAVE – The Alex & Jon Project, a community initiative we are preparing to launch focused on bringing resources, awareness, voice, and empowerment to individuals and families. If you’re curious about what we’re building and how to get involved, I’d love to connect.šŸŒˆšŸ’šāœØ

Good morning šŸ’š

I’m waking up today still reflecting on a powerful mental health forum I attended last night.

A mother shared her story of losing her son to suicide… and how she is now using her voice to create change, awareness, and connection in our community.

It was raw.
It was real.
And it was deeply needed.

It left me thinking…

We take care of our physical health without hesitation.
We talk about it.
We normalize it.

So why not mental health?

Why are so many still struggling in silence?

The truth is—
we are not meant to do this alone.

Healing happens in conversation.
In community.
In moments where we feel seen, heard, and supported.

I’m so grateful to be part of a community that is beginning to open these conversations…
that is willing to sit in the hard, honest moments…
and that is working toward real solutions for our children, our families, and anyone who is struggling.

A heartfelt thank you to Tessa Spencer and ABC News 4 for creating this space—
for bringing voices together, for sharing stories, and for helping lead conversations that truly matter.

This is why I do what I do.
This is why BRAVE matters.
This is why your voice matters.

Let’s keep talking.
Let’s keep showing up.
Let’s keep breaking the stigma.

✨ You are not alone.
