As the temperatures rise, Ayurveda encourages us to enjoy foods that are hydrating, light, and naturally cooling. This simple summer salad is the perfect way to nourish your body while staying refreshed.

Ingredients:
4 cups watermelon, cubed
1 cucumber, diced
Fresh mint leaves, chopped
Juice of 1 lime
Pinch of sea salt
Optional: crumbled feta cheese

Directions:
Combine watermelon, cucumber, and mint in a bowl.
Squeeze fresh lime juice over the mixture.
Add a pinch of sea salt.
Toss gently and serve chilled.

Meet Renee, our Monday noon yoga instructor and one of the warm, welcoming faces of The Folded Leaf. 🌿

Renee is a certified 200-hour yoga teacher who received her training through the Lifespring School of Yoga in 2016. What began as a personal practice after the birth of her son eventually blossomed into a passion for sharing yoga with others. Though she never intended to teach, a little encouragement from her instructor led her to discover a true calling.

Known for bringing knowledge, insight, laughter, and joy to every class, Renee blends traditional and modern yoga practices with thoughtfully curated music and a down-to-earth approach that makes everyone feel welcome.

When she's not on the mat, you'll likely find her soaking up sunshine, paddleboarding, hiking, or enjoying the outdoors she has loved since growing up in the mountains of West Virginia.

We're excited to welcome Angela Hammond, owner and founder of Main Street Yoga in Fairmont, WV, to The Folded Leaf for a special Bhakti Flow series.

An E-RYT 500, YACEP, and Ayurvedic Health Counselor, Angela has been practicing yoga since 1996, teaching since 2015, and training yoga teachers since 2019. Her passion is helping others experience transformation through the timeless wisdom of Yoga and Ayurveda.

When she's not teaching, you'll likely find her hiking, biking, paddling, or spending time with her husband Mark and their two mischievous dogs, Boomer and Helo.

Join us as Angela shares her unique blend of movement, meditation, mythology, and devotion in this inspiring three-class journey.

Pro Tip: Morning dew can make the grass damp, so it’s recommended to bring a beach towel or blanket to place underneath your yoga mat for extra comfort.

A welcoming, all-levels yoga class led each week by a different YTT graduate, offering a variety of styles and teaching approaches. Beginner-friendly and open to everyone.

This is a donation-based class. Cash donations are preferred, and all contributions go directly to the Kula Scholarship Fund. This fund supports access to yoga for individuals experiencing financial hardship by providing free and reduced-cost classes and memberships.
