🌈♿ LGBTQ Pride & Disability Pride: Stronger Together ♿🌈
The LGBTQ community and the disability community overlap in powerful ways, and that intersection deserves to be seen.
💡 Did you know:
• 1 in 4 le***an, gay, and bisexual adults in the U.S. has a disability
• 2 in 5 transgender adults live with a disability
• An estimated 3–5 million LGBTQ people are disabled
Disability exists in every community, just like LGBTQ identities do. Yet too often, representation tells a narrow story, one that leaves out LGBTQ people, especially LGBTQ people of color.
Disability is diverse. It includes:
👂 Deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals
👁️ Blind and low-vision individuals
🧠 Cognitive disabilities (like Down syndrome)
📚 Learning disabilities (like dyslexia)
💬 Mental health conditions (like anxiety and depression)
And more!
✨ Inclusion matters. Representation matters. Every story matters.
Let’s uplift voices at the intersection and continue building communities where everyone belongs. 💙
