Floyd Brace Company Orthotics and Prosthetics

Floyd Brace Company Orthotics and Prosthetics Floyd Brace Company has been serving the Lowcountry since 1942. Consider us your friend for life!

Whether we're fitting a custom-brace or fabricating an artificial limb, we use the finest products and most advanced clinical techniques available. We put a lot into our work, and we’re rewarded by seeing how much our patients get out of it. We're proud of our work and proud of our patients, many of whom have been relying on our clinicians and services throughout their lives. Each of our Lowcountr

y offices is staffed and equipped to serve adults as well as children, and each maintains a huge inventory of devices for patients of any size. We offer the most advanced design and fabrication capabilities of any O&P service in the Lowcountry, and we provide all the services needed to insure ongoing satisfaction, instruction, training and as-needed adjustment or maintenance of any product we supply. For patients, this means a rapid return to higher levels of activity and comfort. For referring clinicians, it means a satisfied patient, minimal delays in any course of therapy, and the assurance that orders are being followed to the letter.

Your socket should not be causing you daily pain.

A little pressure can happen, especially as your body changes, but rubbing, pinching, skin irritation, slipping, or ongoing discomfort should not be ignored. Your prosthesis should help you move through life with more freedom, not make every step harder.

If something feels off, reach out. We will evaluate your fit, make adjustments when possible, and help you get back to walking, moving, and living with more ease.

Call us to book a comfort check.

Pediatric orthotic care is never one-size-fits-all.

That’s why we’re bringing therapists and clinical professionals together for a day focused on pediatric interventions, movement, support, and practical care strategies. Join us on September 19 at the Lowcountry Conference Center in Nexton for our symposium.

If you work with children who need orthotic support, this is a great opportunity to deepen your knowledge, ask questions, and take home information you can use with patients and families.

Qualifying CEUs are available, and registration is open now.

Staff Highlight: Michael.

There is a lot happening behind a confident step.

The mechanics of a prosthetic joint help support stability, movement, and control, but the real difference comes from matching the technology to the person using it. Your activity level, strength, goals, and comfort all shape the choices we make together.

Good prosthetic care is not about the most complicated device. It is about the right device for your life.

This review means so much to our team. 🩵

Helping someone get up and moving again is never just about the device. It is about listening, problem-solving, making careful adjustments, and showing up with compassion through the process.

Thank you for trusting Floyd Brace, and thank you for recognizing Josh and the care team. We are grateful to be part of your family’s journey.

Upper-limb prosthetic care is never just about replacing what is missing. It is about helping you do more of what matters.

That might mean carrying groceries, returning to work, holding a fishing rod, cooking a meal, or feeling more natural in social settings. During an arm prosthetic evaluation, we talk through your goals, measure carefully, and help you understand what options may fit your life.

Your prosthesis should support your independence in ways that matter to you.

When a child needs AFOs, parents often have a lot of questions. Will they be comfortable? How long should they wear them? What changes should we watch for?

We welcome those questions and any others you can think of.

Our pediatric team takes time with both children and parents, making sure the device is fitted carefully and the plan makes sense at home, at school, and in everyday movement. Custom care matters at every age.

A prosthesis should help you keep participating in your life.

For some people, that means getting around the house more safely. For others, it means errands, church, family visits, walking outside, or simply feeling steady enough to say yes more often.
Wherever you are starting, our team listens to what matters most and works with you toward comfort, confidence, and better daily mobility.

Tell us what you want your prosthesis to help you do.
