When we're not running around the hospital, we're staying active at the annual Cooper River Bridge Run and morning Barry's seshes with motivated fellows and Dr. Elias, hosting innovative gastroenterologists and author of G2G, celebrating last days at the VA, serving the Rwanda community, playing games at a baby shower for our soon to be MUSC GI mini, hands on fibroscan time, leaning into school pride with UMich's national title, and importantly learning which of the attendings rocks a beard at the end of board review and rebranding our fellow's work room.. our MUSC GI spring 2026 is off to an amazing start

🌼Why MUSC: Everyone, fellows and faculty
included, was very welcoming during my interview day (and genuinely seemed to like each other 😛). I also have a personal interest in endoscopic management of esophageal cancer, and I know MUSC is a well-known and well-established institution for said interests!
🌼In my free time I like to: read, play video games, pickleball with the co-fellows!
🌼Favorite vine/tiktok: “did you give the dinosaurs more muscle like I asked”
🌼Favorite guilty pleasure TV: love island (this last season is the biggest dumpster fire and I can’t look away)

☘️Why MUSC: MUSC provided the opportunity for advanced IBD training with world-renowned “IBD-ologists” Drs. Forster and Swanson. There is excellent camaraderie amongst the fellows and faculty. Living in Charleston, the perennial powerhouse of Travel + Leisure’s city rankings ( #1 city for twelve consecutive years, although, recently dethroned by Santa Fe, NM), is a nice perk.
☘️Favorite thing about Charleston: Benefiting from (read as: mooching off of) my friend’s boat club membership and exploring Charleston’s waterways
☘️Favorite guilty pleasure TV: Southern Charm

🌴Why MUSC:
1. The people! Everyone seemed so genuinely happy during mixers and interview days. Really 10/10 Vibes
2. The diversity of clinical experience including tertiary academic medicine, VA, subspecialties options, and overall work life balance. Charleston has an incredible history and so much to do indoors and outdoors
🌴In my free time I love exploring the city, going for a run on the beach, finding a fun bar/brewery, and surfing 😁
🌴If i wasn't a doctor I'd totally be an underwater videographer 🤿
