What does “gripping” mean in yoga?
Gripping is over-engaging.
Holding. Clenching. Bracing.
It’s the body trying to create safety through tension.
You might notice it in:
— your jaw
— your shoulders
— your hips
— your hands
— your breath
Yoga isn’t about forcing the pose.
It’s about learning where you can soften while still feeling supported.
