.W. “Max” Maxson and his business partner established a foundation of assisting architects during the design phase of the project while faithfully executing the delivery and installation of the products as designed. The company originally sold just doors and windows but quickly added specialty products like rolling steel doors and loading dock equipment over the next 20 years. in order to serve his architectural and general contractor clients better and create a path for succession. Max lead the company through continued growth until his retirement in 1988. Since then, Maxson and Associates has continued to thrive under the leadership of Max’s son, Bill, expanding its offering into space management and life safety products that complement its traditional product offering while greatly increasing its service business. Maxson remains a partner to architects and interior designers as full service, knowledgeable product representatives, ensuring the careful execution of their design through dependable construction execution and teamwork with the General Contractor. Every effort at Maxson is focused on a solid client experience, down to the day-to-day operation by the facility owner throughout the life cycle of the product. Dock Expertise in Action at Selwin in Indian Trail

Recent media from Selwin in Indian Trail offers a strong look at a category that has been important to Maxson Associates from the start: dock equipment. In this project, Russell Tucker, Jason Lee McKinney, and Ian McPherson supported a mechanical dock leveler replacement, with Russell and Ian featured performing the hands-on field work shown in the photos and video.

Fifty years is worth celebrating, especially with this team.

Maxson Associates 50th anniversary celebration gave us a chance to bring the whole team together and reflect on where the company came from and where we are heading.

When we look at this group, we see the true core of Maxson Associates. We see years of experience, field knowledge, customer care, project coordination, service expertise, installation skills, leadership, and the daily commitment it takes to keep moving forward.

A company does not reach 50 years because of one person or one moment. It reaches that milestone because people keep showing up, solving problems, supporting one another, and taking pride in the work.

We are grateful for this team and for everyone who helped Maxson become the company it is today.

A 50-year milestone gives us a good reason to say thank you.

At a recent Maxson quarterly meeting during our 50th anniversary, we had the chance to recognize four team members who are retiring after years of meaningful service.
Karen Hobson Nickelson was honored for eight years with Maxson. Rob Roberts was honored for 11 years. Ken Cox was honored for 37 years. Bill Maxson announced his retirement after 48 years of leadership and service.

We are grateful for the experience, care, and commitment each of them brought to the company. Their work has touched contracts, customers, code conversations, project teams, leadership decisions, and countless everyday moments that helped Maxson keep moving forward.

Fifty years in business is something worth celebrating, but milestones like this are really about people. Karen, Rob, Ken, and Bill helped build the Maxson story in ways that will continue long after this meeting.

Thank you for everything you have given to Maxson.
