What exactly is TMS? 🤔

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) is a non-drug, non-invasive treatment that uses targeted magnetic pulses to stimulate areas of the brain involved in mood regulation.*

Treatment takes place right in a doctor's office, requires no anesthesia, and patients can return to their normal daily activities afterward.

If antidepressants haven't provided the relief you were hoping for, NeuroStar TMS may be an option worth exploring. 💜Schedule a consultation to learn more.

For years, Joyce's depression with anxiety kept her mind in overdrive. Racing thoughts and sleepless nights became her normal, making it difficult to enjoy the things she loved.

A few weeks into NeuroStar TMS therapy, her husband noticed something different - a lighter mood and signs that Joyce was beginning to feel more like herself again.

Now, she's spending more time outdoors, caring for her flowers, and embracing a more active lifestyle. It's the little moments that mean the most. 💜🌷

We are excited to welcome Raymond “Ray” Castillo, LMFT-S, as the new Regional Clinical Director for Pediatric & Family Behavioral Health.

Ray brings a strong clinical and leadership background to PFBH, with years of experience serving individuals, couples, families, and adolescents across outpatient and higher levels of care. He is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, an approved clinical supervisor, and a thoughtful leader who understands the importance of building programs that are clinically strong, patient-centered, and deeply connected to the needs of the community.

On a personal note, I have known Ray for the past three years, and during that time our professional relationship has grown through many conversations about the future of mental health care. We have often viewed this work through a similar lens: that mental health care should be compassionate, accessible, collaborative, and built around the real needs of patients and families.

The fact that we now get to put into action the projects we have dreamed about and discussed for years is truly a dream come true.

Ray will play an important role in helping lead PFBH’s therapy-related initiatives, supporting clinical growth, strengthening our team, and helping develop future programs that expand access to meaningful care across our community.

Please join us in welcoming Ray Castillo to PFBH. We are grateful to have him on the team and excited for what is ahead.

Heart conditions don’t just impact the body, they can deeply affect mental health as well. Yet many psychiatric practices hesitate to treat patients with complex medical conditions like cardiac disease.

At Pediatric and Family Behavioral Health, we take a different approach.

Dr. Javier Santos Cubiña, a triple board-certified psychiatrist with extensive experience in treating patients with co-occurring medical and psychiatric conditions, leads our commitment to whole-person care. Our team is specifically trained to safely and effectively support individuals living with heart conditions, addressing anxiety, depression, and emotional stress alongside their medical care.

We believe patients shouldn’t have to choose between managing their physical health and receiving quality mental health support.

Learn more in our latest blog post.

For many individuals, a heart diagnosis doesn’t just affect physical health, it changes how they think, feel, and live day by day. A new diagnosis, hospitalization, or chronic cardiovascular illness can bring fear, uncertainty, and significant adjustments in life. At Pediatric and Family Behaviora...
