I found that I really enjoy doing pop-culture characters in Renaissance posing. The composition of this piece was inspired by two things: the final shot of Kamen and The Hollow in the show by Scavengers Reign, and classical painting Madonna Litta (a painting of the Virgin Mary, breast feeding a baby Jesus).

There’s something really exciting about mixing two types of art from vastly different eras and creating something truly unique.

Using existing IP is great but I have become irrationally uninspired by a lot of media lately, and being able to make create something from inspiration of 2 iconic references means so much more to me than a copy paste tattoo.

Art is a valid reason to get something you want tattooed. It doesn’t always have to mean something profound. Get what you want, and make your body a walking museum of your life and interests.
