When someone tells me they have brain fog, here’s where my mind goes. 🧠

I’m thinking about blood sugar, nutrition, sleep, stress, iron, B12, thyroid function, gut health and inflammation—but I’m not assuming one of those is automatically the answer.

I want to look at the whole picture and ask a better question: why is this happening in the first place? 🧐

Two people can have the same digestive symptoms and need completely different approaches.

That’s why I don’t believe in giving everyone the same “gut healing” diet or a cabinet full of supplements. 🙃

Inflammation can absolutely be part of the picture, but digestive symptoms can also be influenced by things like infections, food intolerances, gut microbiome changes, motility, stress and more.

The goal is to understand what may be contributing to your symptoms and create a plan that actually fits you. 🌿

And we don’t just want to help you feel better temporarily—we want to understand why those issues developed in the first place and work toward keeping them from coming back.

Because your gut is individual. Your plan should be too. 🤍

Your gut and brain are in constant communication—and sometimes, the symptoms show up in both places. 🧠↔️🦠

Bloating, brain fog, mood changes, anxiety, and digestive issues can overlap, even when they seem unrelated at first.

Instead of looking at each symptom in isolation, it can be helpful to ask: what could be connecting them? 👀

The gut-brain connection is a bigger piece of the picture than you might think. Looking for personalized guidance? 🧐 See the link in my bio to book a Jumpstart Call today!

You think it’s anxiety. I’m looking for the why. 👀

Depending on someone’s symptoms and health history, there can be a lot more to explore.

I may be thinking about things like:
• High cortisol or chronic stress
• Low progesterone
• Insulin resistance and blood sugar dysregulation
• Gut bacterial overgrowth
• Neuroimmune inflammation
• Parasites
• Mold toxicity

That doesn’t mean any one of these things is the cause of anxiety—or that everyone experiencing anxiety needs to be evaluated for all of them.

But sometimes the question isn’t just, “How do we manage the anxiety?” It’s also, “Why might it be showing up in the first place?”

When you’re telling me about your symptoms, I’m listening for more than just the symptom itself. 🧠

I’m listening for patterns.

When does it happen? What makes it better or worse? What else is showing up alongside it?

Brain fog, anxiety, afternoon fatigue and sugar cravings can each have multiple potential contributors. That’s why I don’t want to stop at simply naming the symptom.

I want to ask: what could be driving it? And how might these symptoms connect?

That’s where we can start putting the bigger picture together.

If you’re ready to explore what could be behind your own symptoms 👉 schedule a Jumpstart Call through the link in my bio!

Supporting your gut and brain doesn’t have to mean following a complicated protocol. 🧠🌿

Some foods can support multiple systems at once—which is one reason I love looking at nutrition through the lens of the whole body.

Swipe through for six foods that provide a mix of fiber, polyphenols, healthy fats and key nutrients to support both gut and brain health.

Digestion and absorption matter just as much as how much you eat when it comes to protein! More isn’t always better. I like to use a smart scale or InBody to track muscle gain when increasing protein and/or weight in the gym to confirm it is helping! Pass it on 👉🏼

Your gut and brain are communicating all day long. ✨🧠✨

And the conversation goes both ways.

Your gut can influence things like mood, focus and how well you respond to stress. At the same time, your brain and nervous system can influence digestion, motility and stomach acid.

So when someone comes to me with brain fog, anxiety, poor sleep or digestive symptoms, I don’t necessarily assume those are separate problems.

Sometimes the connection between them is the clue.

Does mental health begin in the gut? The gut and brain are mirrors of each other, so before you think IBS isn’t that bad to live with or anxiety is “just” a brain chemical problem, let’s look a little deeper 🕵️ Share with a friend who’s could use a fresh perspective!
