Dermatology Care of Charlotte We are a comprehensive practice that focuses on general, surgical and cosmetic dermatology.

Our board certified dermatologists, Dr. Seward, Dr. Grattan and Dr. LaRocque, are focused on providing the highest quality skin care for adults and children in a professional and patient friendly environment. At our south Charlotte offices in Ballantyne, Waverly, Mint Hill and Indian Trail, NC, we specialize in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology and are dedicated to improving the health of your skin, hair, and nails.

It’s estimated that every day about 9,500 people in the United States are diagnosed with skin cancer. Melanoma is the most serious type of skin cancer.

🔆How common is melanoma?

The American Cancer Society’s estimates for melanoma in the United States for 2026 are:
🔅About 112,000 new melanomas will be diagnosed (about 65,400 in men and 46,600 in women).
🔅About 8,510 people are expected to die of melanoma (about 5,500 men and 3,010 women).

Changes in the rates of new melanomas vary by age and s*x. In people younger than 50, the rates have been stable among women and have declined by about 1% a year in men since the early 2000s.

In people ages 50 and older, rates increased in women by about 3% per year but have stayed stable among men.

Melanoma death rates declined rapidly from 2013 to 2022, largely because of advances in treatment and increases in preventative measures like regular sunscreen use and skin screenings.

📣We are excited to announce the return of Physician Assistant Keri Squittieri! Keri previously worked for Dermatology Care of Charlotte for 6 years. Keri will start seeing patients in our Mint Hill and Waverly offices in April.

Keri Squittieri earned her Bachelor of Science degree with honors from Hodges University, and her Master of Medical Science from Nova Southeastern University. She has been practicing dermatology for 15 years in Charlotte and is recognized for her clinical expertise, leadership, and commitment to advancing the physician assistant profession. She is Board and Surgery certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and is licensed by the North Carolina Medical Board.

Keri provides comprehensive dermatologic care, including medical and surgical dermatology for both adult and pediatric patients, as well as minor cosmetic procedures.
