A little note about AI-generated tattoo designs ✨

More and more often lately, you have been sending me tattoo references generated with AI, and I think it’s important to explain something:

Just because an image looks beautiful digitally does NOT mean it can realistically work as a tattoo.

AI often generates an overwhelming amount of tiny details, textures, micro-lines, and contrast that simply cannot heal properly in skin long-term. Tattooing is very different from digital art or drawing on paper — skin has limitations, and a good tattoo design has to take aging, healing, spacing, and readability into account.

Many AI-generated designs may look impressive at first glance, but over time those ultra-small details can blur together and lose clarity completely.

If you want to use AI for inspiration — that’s absolutely fine! It can be a great tool for mood, composition ideas, or general aesthetics. But please avoid trying to fully design the tattoo through AI expecting it to be copied exactly as generated.

A tattoo should be designed by a tattoo artist who understands how the artwork will actually translate onto skin and how it will look years later ✨
