Journey of Hope TransAmerica 2026: Day 64-67

The team cycled through Virginia, going to Charlottesville, where they had a friendship visit with the Arc of Piedmont, their final friendship visit of the trip. They continued onto Front Royal going over Shenandoah, then finally into Leesburg, where they were hosted by The Building People.

Finally on day 67 the cyclists rode their final miles, starting from Leesburg, they cycled to D.C. where they were received on the capital lawn by friends and family. After over two mints and 4500 miles, these gentlemen achieved something very few ever achieve, and raised over $500,000 for an amazing cause. All 24 cyclists and crew made it safely to their final destination with memories and friendships that will last a lifetime.

Who doesn’t love back-to-back arrival posts? The Gear Up New York team has officially made it to the Big Apple!

After 560 miles and 10 days on the road, these Pi Kappa Phi men have crossed New York from Niagara Falls to New York City, building connections, championing inclusion for people with disabilities and putting perseverance and leadership into action.

The challenge was demanding, but a shared purpose and commitment to service before self carried them through every mile. As Gear Up New York comes to a close, we’re proud of what these men accomplished and excited to see how this momentum continues until we hit the streets of New York again next year.

From the coast to coast, the Journey of Hope teams have made it to Washington, D.C. after more than 8,000 combined miles on the road.

Fifty-one Pi Kappa Phi men started their summers with one goal: to carry out the mission of The Ability Experience by cycling across America, building relationships and championing the abilities of people with disabilities along the way. Together, the TransAmerica and North teams raised nearly $570,000 in support of that mission.

But the impact of Journey of Hope goes far beyond the miles. Every Friendship Visit, conversation, smile and community along the way created connections that can last a lifetime.

These men have lived out the values of Pi Kappa Phi every mile of the journey and shown what servant leadership looks like in action. The ride may be over, but the friendships built, lives touched and memories made will carry far beyond this summer of service!
