What if you didn’t have to try so hard?

Let the body soften.
Let the mind flow.

Sometimes, less effort creates more space. 🌿

What If the Weight Isn’t Real?

Things I have to do.
Things I have to protect.
Roles I have to fulfill.
Worries that never seem to end.

We carry them one by one and call it life.

And after a while, we begin to believe:

“This is just how my life is.”

But what if the weight I’m carrying isn’t as real as I think it is?

What we see and know may be only a tiny part of what is.
Even what I call “reality” may simply be one version of the world I’ve come to believe in.

Maybe that’s why people have compared life to a dream for centuries.

Once you realize it may be a dream,
you don’t have to hold on quite so tightly.

Will you keep dreaming the same nightmare?
Or will you choose differently?

I hope this makes your heart feel a little lighter. 🌿

And in today’s practice, here are two different ways of moving:

1. Modified Yang Style
2. Traditional Yang Style

Which one speaks to you more? 🌿

The 78-Year-Old Girl I Want to Become

There’s a 78-year-old girl in Yeongdong, Korea, whom I hope to be like someday.

She runs a small restaurant by herself.
Before opening, she practices calligraphy to quiet her mind and enjoys a cup of tea.

But what I admire most is her curiosity.

Whenever we visit, she asks us about English.
These days, she asks about AI and computers.

She learns from younger people.
She asks. She listens. She laughs.

Sometimes I wonder if one of the hardest parts of growing older isn’t the wrinkles—

but losing our conversation with the world.

She hasn’t.

She puts tiny parasols over her succulents to protect them from too much sun.

And after a lifetime of making olgaengi-guk, a traditional Korean freshwater snail soup, she still says she feels sorry for all those little lives.

This 78-year-old girl also has someone she adores:

Korean singer Lim Young-woong. 😊

But her wish isn’t to take a photo with him or get his autograph.

“I just want to cook him a good meal.”

She simply wants someone who has brought her joy to be healthy and happy.

Maybe growing older well isn’t only about taking care of our bodies.

Maybe it’s also about staying curious, staying connected, and keeping our hearts open.

What’s one thing you hope you’ll never stop doing, no matter how old you get? 🌿

More Powerful Than Sleep 🌿

Most people wait until they’re completely exhausted before they rest.

“I can’t keep going.”
“I’m so tired, I have to stop.”

That’s passive rest.

But true rest begins much earlier.

“My body has been working so hard.”

“Today, I’ll give my body the gift of true rest.”

That is active rest.

In today’s practice, we gently awaken the kidney area, move slowly, and most importantly, bring our awareness back to the body.

Feel your feet on the ground.

Notice your breath.

Feel the breeze on your skin.

As your awareness returns to your body, your mind naturally follows.

True rest is more than sleep.

🌿 Coming home to your body is true rest.

What does true rest mean to you? 💙

Looking for clarity in a time of change? 🌿

Life doesn’t always ask us easy questions.

Sometimes we’re faced with uncertainty, an important decision, or a transition that leaves us wondering which direction to take.

For thousands of years, the I Ching (Book of Changes) has served as a source of wisdom—not by predicting the future, but by helping us understand the present more clearly.

When we see our current situation with greater clarity, the next step often reveals itself naturally.

Sometimes the answer isn’t found by thinking harder.

Sometimes it begins with asking a better question.

If you’re looking for guidance during a time of change, I’d be honored to share this ancient wisdom with you.

🌿 How Do We Build a Body That Handles Heat Better?

As summer approaches, many people focus on drinking more water or spending more time in air conditioning.

While those things are important, they are only part of the picture.

A body that adapts well to heat depends largely on healthy circulation.

When the nervous system is balanced, blood vessels can respond more efficiently, circulation improves, and the body is better able to regulate temperature.

Stress, on the other hand, often creates tension throughout the body. As tension increases, circulation can become less efficient, breathing becomes shallower, and recovery becomes more difficult.

Strong lower-body muscles also play an important role. They help move blood throughout the body and support overall circulation.

This movement helps:

🌿 Strengthen the lower body

🌿 Open the chest and upper body

🌿 Support healthy circulation throughout the body

A body that handles heat well is not simply a body that tolerates heat.

It is a body that circulates well, adapts well, and recovers well. 🌿

Strong circulation.
Strong recovery.
Better resilience in the heat.

I remember riding a roller coaster as a child with a friend.

My friend became so tense and rigid from fear that afterward, he ended up injuring his arm.

I was afraid too.

But instead of tightening my body, I tried to completely relax into the movement.

Surprisingly, the experience felt far less overwhelming than I expected.

That experience stayed with me.

Sometimes suffering increases not only because of the challenge itself, but because of how much tension we carry while facing it.

Want to overcome viruses, pain, and physical imbalance more effectively?

First, become still. 🌿

When unnecessary tension softens and the mind becomes quieter, energy waste decreases, and the body’s regulatory systems begin to function more efficiently.

The nervous system settles.
Circulation improves.
The body gradually shifts from survival mode into recovery mode.

Sometimes suffering grows not only because of the situation itself, but because of how much tension we continue holding while facing it.

Stillness is not just a mental state.

It is a physiological environment that allows the body to begin healing and regulating again. 🌿

Through Qigong and Tai Chi, we practice reconnecting with the body instead of fighting against it.

When the body stops fighting,
healing can begin. 🌿

Many people try to improve their joints
by only focusing on muscle training.

But muscle training and joint training
are not the same.

Muscle training builds strength, stability, and power.
But when the body only learns to tighten and hold,
the joints can gradually lose freedom and fluidity.

That’s why this movement combines both:

✔️ Squats to strengthen the lower body
✔️ Swings to restore rhythm, mobility, and freedom to the upper body and joints

Strong legs.
Free joints.
Connected movement. 🌿

In our small group live online classes,
we do more than simply train the body.

Based on each member’s condition,
we continuously balance strength and movement together.

Stretch and strengthen your body in one movement.

As you inhale, gently gather strength in your lower abdomen.
As you exhale, imagine that strength spreading through your entire body.

Repeat this breath up to 20 times.

At some point, the noise fades…
and only your direction remains. 🌿

In life,
we eventually come face to face
with what we tried to avoid.

No matter how much we try to escape,
we meet it again in the end.

So if what you are doing right now
is something you don’t want to do…

you may already be going through it.

And if that’s the case,
then the rest of your life
can begin to move toward
what you truly enjoy.

When you change your mind,
your life changes.

If you want to shift your mind,
try this movement. 🌿
