💙🐾 World MS Day 🐾💙

Today we recognize the strength, resilience, and courage of those living with Multiple Sclerosis, while also honoring the incredible dogs who provide support, stability, comfort, and companionship along the way.

For many people living with chronic illness, dogs become far more than pets.

They become:
💙 emotional support during difficult days
💙 motivation to keep moving forward
💙 steady companions through uncertainty
💙 providers of routine, comfort, and connection
💙 service dogs trained to assist with daily challenges

🐾 Dogs have an incredible ability to sense what we need without a single word being spoken.

Sometimes they provide physical assistance.
Sometimes they provide emotional healing.
And sometimes they simply lay beside someone and remind them they are not alone.

💙 In rescue, we witness the healing power of dogs every single day.

The bond between humans and dogs is extraordinary.
They help us through grief, anxiety, illness, loneliness, trauma, and some of the hardest moments life can bring.

And often, they do it quietly… simply by being there.

🐾 To those living with MS:
Your strength is seen.
Your challenges are real.
And your resilience is inspiring.

And to the dogs walking beside them every day—
thank you for the comfort, loyalty, and unconditional love you give so freely.

💙 Sometimes healing doesn’t come in words.
Sometimes it comes with four paws, quiet eyes, and a heart that refuses to leave your side.

To those who gave it all, thank you for our freedom.

God is the glory of my strength, and by His favor our horn is exalted.

"Our horn is exalted means our strength, dignity, honor, and power have been lifted up, honored, or restored by God's favor. In the Bible, a raised "horn" symbolizes victory, authority, and prosperity over enemies, frequently used to describe being strengthened, vindicated, or saved from humbling circumstances, such as in 1 Samuel 2:10, Psalm 89:17, and Psalm 92:10.” From “women in the scriptures”

“Are you getting 150 minutes of exercise a week”? - as recommended by the American Heart association.

Have you seen a video of robotic-assisted knee replacement surgery - narrated by an orthopedic surgeon?

… just a couple of the topics that Dr. Megan Swanson covered today in her talk at the Hotel Madison in Harrisonburg.

She will be continuing the speaking circuit in the next two weeks as she addresses the Glenmore Women’s Luncheon on May 1, the Center at Belvedere on May 13 and she will be in Lynchburg in September.

⚡️ Dr. Swanson said: “it was great to get over to Harrisonburg and see people in their community and talk about how to help them achieve their goals using cutting edge technologies.”
