Too many people living with PTSD suffer in silence. June is PTSD Awareness Month — and we're not staying quiet.
"I convinced myself nothing was wrong. Only that the world was dangerous."
These are real words from real people — veterans, first responders, and service members living with PTSD. Stigma, self-doubt, and the belief that asking for help is weakness keeps too many from getting it. You are not alone. Help exists.
We've seen what happens when someone finally gets the support they need. Confidence returns. Sleep comes easier. Isolation fades.
None of it happens without people like you. Service Dogs of Virginia places trained PTSD service dogs with veterans, active duty military, and first responders — at no cost to them. Every donation makes the next placement possible.
This June, help us reach more people who are still waiting.
