✨Moms Night Out Recap✨
This was an awesome workshop to attend!! Thank you so much Grayce Eubanks Doula Services for speaking and educating the group last night on so many different topics. 🤗
The more I learn about birth doulas and other birth/postpartum support people, I get even more passionate about helping women! I think the group stayed an extra hour last night just for questions. There is SO MUCH that is missing in the central IL area when it comes to positive pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experiences. I’m lucky to help with a small percentage of women in this category. 🤍
Some takeaways that I learned:
• doulas can work with you in a variety of settings -> home birth, hospital birth, OR during c-section, and birth centers
• doulas are present to advocate for you during labor and delivery, especially in the hospital, and will respect your wishes with what YOU want
• they help dads find a voice too, and can assist your support person throughout the birth process
• they provide education and research throughout pregnancy so that you can make the right decisions for you and your baby when it comes to your birth
• doulas do not stop and leave once the baby is born, they can offer continued support for breastfeeding, newborn care, and support for mommas into postpartum for up to 6 weeks
• if your baby goes to the nicu, they will advocate for you and your baby
• hiring a birth doula is a very worth while investment, and I wish I could have done this during my first pregnancy
The list could go on and on honestly! I learned a great deal of important information, and I’m happy to have a list of references for my patients. If anyone has questions or would like to know more information about birth doulas, feel free to message Grayce or myself! 🫶🏼
