Happy Registered Dietitian Day!! This one is special to me because it marks my 25th year as a dietitian!
Over the past 25 years, my career has taken me through so many meaningful roles as a clinical dietitian, pediatric dietitian, Lead Dietitian, Director of Health and Wellness, and even serving as a NICU dietitian caring for the tiniest patients.
Today, I have the best role of being the owner of my own private practice, doing work that I truly love every single day. I’m grateful that after all these years I’m still doing things I enjoy and even doing things that I never knew I could do! I mean… I travel around the Caribbean as the Wellness Director at some of the largest all-inclusive beach resorts! It’s such a unique and rewarding experience being able to travel the world, meet so many new people, and do the job I love!
Dietitians spend years studying chemistry, organic chemistry, biochemistry, metabolism, medical nutrition therapy, and the science behind how food impacts the body. But the heart of what we do goes far beyond science. We listen, support, and help people navigate complicated relationships with food, health conditions, and real-life challenges.
I’m incredibly grateful for this profession and for every patient who has trusted me along the way. And a special thank you to all of the dietitians, mentors, and colleagues who have helped shape and guide me throughout these 25 years. Your knowledge, support, and encouragement have played a huge role in making me the dietitian I am today!
So here’s to 25 years of helping people nourish their bodies and their lives!! If you are an RD or a future RD, I hope you feel loved and appreciated today for all that you do! ❤️
