✈️One of the most frustrating things for someone losing weight is to not see the work pay off.

🔥After 12 years of working with weight loss clients, one of the best pieces of advice I can give is to not focus on lifting weights early into your journey.

We tend to relate time spent in the gym with weight loss.

⭐️The truth is though, only 5% of your daily calorie burn comes from time spent in the gym.

⭐️15% of your daily calorie burn comes from all other daily movement and this includes walking.

If you’re new to weight loss then just focus on increasing your daily step count and decreasing the amount of time you sit.

Here are a few benefits to this approach:

✅It’s a much more realistic habit to create

✅It’s more likely to cause weight loss

✅It will help prevent gym resentment

Lifting weights is incredible for your overall health.

Many benefits such as…

✅Increased strength

✅More confidence

✅Better sleep

✅Mobility

✅Better functional movement

✅Increased s*x drive

It will also boost your metabolism overall but this takes time because it takes time to put on muscle.

⭐️Think of weight lifting as a way to maintain your weight loss after reaching your goal but don’t associate it with the actual process of losing weight.

✈️We live in a time of convenience but that can lead to very unrealistic expectations.

It’s realistic to believe you can order just about anything online and have it delivered within 24 hours.

👎The problem is many of us have attached this mentality to our weight loss journey.

😡 The unfortunate part is there are a lot of people out there preying on individuals and their desperation to lose weight.

Please don’t fall for anyone promising you “fast” weight loss results.

It’s a process and when done correctly you actually stop caring about the actual weight loss.

You learn the weight loss is an outcome to the process.

Learn to love the process and you’ll go well beyond your initial goal.

⏰ This takes time though.

The plan itself doesn’t need to be difficult but you do have to stick with it much longer than people are promising if you want lasting results.

Yet, with obesity rates continuing to rise it’s clear that many people don’t make healthy habits an investment.

🤔What’s the point of all the other investments if you’re not alive or physically capable of enjoying the rewards.

Not many investments are guaranteed.

Someone who knows what they’re doing will take calculated risks.

⭐️When it comes to weight loss and fitness though, there’s no guess work.

✅The facts are there that specific habits lead to overall improved health and reduce your risk to certain chronic conditions.

✈️Happiness comes from having control in your life.

This control in your life comes from creating self-awareness.

🧘The process to creating self-awareness requires you looking inward.

It’s an incredibly uplifting experience to feel on track with what you truly love want to be doing in life.

⭐️It’s typically much less and more simple than you’d think.

We don’t need much, but social media has made us believe that we do.

Taking the time to be intentional with your self-awareness practices will lead to real success.

This is why you will meet super wealthy people who still aren’t happy.

Their constant motivation to becoming financially successful comes from an external factor…💸

In today’s social media driven world it becomes difficult to be intentional about seeking your true inner motivation.

✅This happens because being intentional is to take action without distraction and we are all distracted by social media.

✅We are basically all in peacock mode trying to grab the attention of others.

✅A like or a follow may feel good for a moment but will never replace the peace of being aligned with what truly defines you.

✈️A lot of people talk about how change is difficult and how any dreams worth chasing are supposed to be challenging.

This is 100% true.

✅Not enough people talk about how difficult it can be to stay the same though.

❌Some even go so far to say that staying the same is the easy route.

I’ve work with a lot of different people on their weight loss journey and can say with confidence that individuals who have stayed the “same” for a long time have not had it easy.

In fact it’s been so difficult sometimes, both mentally and physically, that this becomes the reason to make changes in their life such a scary choice.

Someone already dealing with discomfort doesn’t want to purposely add more discomfort.

⭐️Keep this is mind for yourself and for your view of others.

At the end of the day each individual has to be willing to make a change.

🔥The choice is completely up to the individual and with that choice comes the responsibility to hold yourself accountable for the discomfort that will come with either choice.

When it comes to weight loss, the obvious answer is that the change is worth the discomfort when compared to remaining the same.

A life of being overweight or obese has been shown to have so many negative health consequences.

On the other side of change, when it comes to weight loss, is an incredible life each of you can and deserves to achieve.

⭐️It takes one single moment for you to decide which direction you’re going.
