Power couple doing power couple things. 💪🏼

John and Cyndi took on HYROX together, with John crossing the finish line for his very first race and Cyndi completing an incredible 11th HYROX. Cyndi then competed in a solo race a few days later and set a PR!

Where you position your shoulder can change where you feel your row.

If your shoulders elevate as you pull, you may notice more upper trap involvement. Setting the shoulder back and down can create a better position for the mid back and lower trap to contribute.

It’s not always about changing the exercise. Sometimes it’s about changing how you move through it.

Elevation → upper trap
Depression → lower trap

Finishing strong. 💪🏼

Peyton and Parker closed out their last week at Be Strong with a trap-bar deadlift PR, a pretty fitting way to celebrate how far they’ve come.

The number is exciting, but what we’re even more proud of is the confidence and knowledge they’ve built along the way. Learning to move well, challenge themselves, and train with confidence on their own. That’s progress beyond a PR.

We’re excited to see you take what you’ve built here and keep pursuing your goals, Peyton and Parker. Once part of the Be Strong community, always part of it. 🫶🏻

Want better mobility? Stop only stretching.

Strength and mobility aren’t separate goals. Good mobility gives you access to positions, and strength teaches you to control them.

The landmine lateral lunge is a great example.

You’re getting deep into the hip, lengthening the adductors, and then asking those muscles to produce force and control you through that range.

That’s what we want. Mobility you can actually use.

Sometimes the best way to improve your mobility isn’t another stretching routine. It’s getting strong through the range you’re trying to gain.

Your lower back isn’t supposed to be completely “turned off” during a hyperextension.

The hamstrings and glutes should drive the movement by extending the hips, but the muscles of the lower back still have an important job. They work gently to support the spine and help keep the trunk strong and controlled.

The goal isn’t to remove the lower back from the exercise. It’s to teach it to work with the hips instead of doing all the work for them.

Strong hamstrings. Strong glutes. A lower back that can handle its role. That’s the goal.
