In a previous post I spoke about the single leg bridge. As always, there are ways to make an exercise harder. If a body weight exercise becomes easier in time for 10-15 reps, add an external load. In this case, slap a dumbbell on your lap and keep the movement/concentration the same.

Most movements in life are done 1 foot in front at the time. Walking, running, stairs, changing direction, etc.
Training should be implemented that way. Kickstand Romanian deadlifts are a great representation of that. Simplify the concentration by focusing one leg at a time. This allows for better mind- body connection and allowing you to slow the movement down.

1. Load the front leg on the way up AND DOWN!
2. Cardio inducing
3. No need for heavy weights

A really great tip that you hear time and time again (usually from me) is time under tension. The beauty of this is not needing really heavy weights that your joints will thank you for long term. A long winded way of saying, add in half reps.
After you complete one full rep, add in a half a rep to add a stretch on the activated muscle groups.

This will allow for more burn, more activation, less weights and puts ego lifting to the side!

Give this puppy a go!
Having the weight in front of you FORCES you to shift your weight back while keeping you balanced in the process. This allows for proper activation in the glutes as well as the quads.

Slow and controlled! Why?
More time under tension means more muscle burn.
More burn means more growth.
More growth means more weights.
More weights means more smiles.
More smiles means better outlook on life.

Give this little puppy a go to burn the core out on your next workout. The core activation I felt on this was top notch! Obviously make sure there are no children running around the area before attempting.

Next challenge is to attempt it in a kneeling position!

Do you walk with both feet forward at the same time? How about for running? When you kneel down to tie your shoe, are both feet in front?
Train your legs unilaterally (one side at a time). This helps you focus specifically on the right muscle groups and not let you compensate one side more than the other.
Yes it is more time consuming but so is the 20 minutes you spend doom-scrolling in the morning and at night.

Time to prioritize!
