Janita Wise has spent 27 years at Bancroft, beginning her career as a Direct Support Professional and growing into her role as Senior Program Director for our New Jersey residential programs.

Along the way, she has supported individuals, mentored teams, and helped shape the programs she leads today.

“You can learn the skills,” Janita says, “but if you have the heart and integrity, everything else will come together.”

When Maggie asked her students where they wanted to eat lunch, one of them chose the classroom because that’s where they felt at home.

It’s a small moment, but it says so much about the kind of teacher she is and the space she’s created for her students. The kind where kids feel safe, supported, and comfortable being themselves.

🎓 Big shoutout to our newest DSP Certification Program grads!

This class was extra special because it included our first-ever Level 3 DSPs! These incredible team members were the first to join the program when it launched, and now they’ve completed the full journey. True trailblazers!

We also celebrated new Level 1 and Level 2 grads who are on their way up. Their passion, growth, and commitment to the people we support inspire us every day.
