Did you know that speech starts with strength? Before a child can produce sounds clearly, the muscles of the mouth and tongue need to be strong, coordinated and placed correctly. That’s where oral motor tools come in.

At Cardinal Kids we use specialized tools to exercise the mouth, build tongue strength, and reinforce proper placement for sounds — making speech therapy more effective and a lot more fun for kids. And yes — we offer speech therapy right here at our clinic!

Have you ever heard of the ATNR reflex?

The Asymmetrical Tonic Neck Reflex is a primitive reflex that every baby is born with — and it SHOULD integrate on its own by around 6 months. But when it doesn’t? It can show up in ways parents might not connect to a reflex at all. Here’s what to watch for:

•Difficulty crossing the midline of their body
•Struggles with reading & writing
•Poor hand-eye coordination
•Trouble with bilateral coordination (using both sides of the body together)
• W-sitting or awkward posture
