I am honored to have been named in Newsweek’s Best Plastic Surgeons issue earlier this week. I was ranked number 21 in the country for breast augmentation. To have my name listed amongst so many surgeons that I have extreme respect for and who are well-known as national leaders in plastic surgery is an honor. Their ranking is based on surveys of other plastic surgeons as well as national quality metrics. Every day I strive for excellence in the practice and to be honored again at a national level is extremely humbling and gratifying. Thank you to all of the patients that put their trust in me as well as my staff that helps me achieve these goals every day. As the summer ends and the busy plastic surgery season begins I am looking forward to another great year.

The American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) motto always was "do your homework". Here is another warning from the FDA.

People have reported severe side effects, such as scarring, infections and skin deformities, after using unauthorized fat-dissolving injections in their chins, arms and stomachs.

The FDA has issued a warning about rare Squamous Cell Carcinomas and Lymphomas found in the capsule (scar tissue) around breast implants. They noted 20 cases of SCC and encourage patients and physicians to be aware of these findings. They do not recommend implant removal for non symptomatic patients. This is a very rare phenomenon and more research is needed. Please see the email I sent out to our e-newsletter list or the longer post on my Instagram page for more details.
