The SIUC Dental Sealant Grant program will be returning to our Chester office on Friday, July 10th from 9:30am-2:30pm. This program provides free dental exams, cleanings, fluoride, and sealants to children ages 3-17. If your child is a part of the AllKids program please bring their medical card. This clinic is first come, first served.

children at ages 12 and 24 months, as well as when certain
circumstances apply.

Because Randolph County has many older homes, especially those built before 1978, families should be aware of the potential for lead-based paint. Older homes, and soil contamination around your home are the primary sources of childhood lead exposure in Illinois

Most skin cancers are caused by too much sun exposure. Use a layered approach to protect your skin year-round with protective clothing, sunscreen, a wide-brimmed hat, UV-blocking sunglasses, and shade.

Talk to your doctor if you notice changes in your skin such as a new growth, a sore that doesn't heal, a change in a mole, or any of the ABCDEs of melanoma.

Dental Safari will be hosting a clinic date at our office in Chester on July 13th!

This clinic is open to children ages 0 through 19. All children are eligible for this program, but there may be costs involved. When completing online consent forms, parents/guardians will need to choose "Special Events" from the top dropdown and choose "Chester - Randolph County Health Department Event".

We will have staff to assist with filling out forms on the day of the clinic if they are not completed online.

The Randolph County Health Department is hosting a Back-to-School Immunization Clinic, which will be held at our Sparta office on June 17, 2026.

This clinic is for incoming 6th graders and high school seniors who need required school immunizations for the 2026-27 school year.

Appointments are required, and we encourage families to schedule as early as possible by calling 618-826-5007.
