We are so excited for our May and June line-up! Herbal education for the home herbalist is at the core of what we offer here at Vulgaris Herbs: common herbs, common wisdom to support our community, friends and family.

We are starting things off with two workshops with Ali from :

🌱 (much needed) Herbal Support for Stress and Anxiety on Friday May 22nd. Ali has been teaching this class for a few years now, she’s done all the deep dives, all the experiments and is bringing in years of direct experience working with herbs and rituals to support the nervous system. This class goes into nervine herbs and beyond into a wide array of herbal actions, protocols and preparations that can fit into everyone’s busy lives.

🌱 next up she will be teaching Hand Crafting Herbal Oils and Salves on Friday June 12. This is hands down one of our most popular classes! Ali has been handcrafting herbal products through and if you’ve had the pleasure to try her oils and salves, you know why this class is so incredibly loved. Come learn the tips and tricks of making effective topical remedies, the different kinds of oils and extraction methods, and make your own blend to take home, plus so much more!

🌱 On Saturday June 20th, I’ll be teaching a hands-on, practical class on tincture making as part of our Learn Herbalism series. If you’ve been struggling to understand the chemistry, ratio math and all the different combinations of meenstrums and extraction methods, you will love this class!

Working with plant medicine is all about understanding the context of how that medicine gets in a bottle and into our bodies. Our Learn Herbalism classes aim to do just that, and empower you with confidence not just to make your own medicine but to navigate the products you find on the shelves.

🍸 last but not least, master herbalist mixologist Zach Fisher from is back for Herbal Cocktails on Friday June 26! This is such a fun class, with lots of tastings, playing with herbs and flavors, and enjoying some speakeasy vibes on a Friday evening. 👌

Hello everyone! Alex here, as many of you may know we are expecting a little girl in the next few weeks. I’ll be taking a little break from the shop while we nurture our little family for May and June. We will remain open Saturday and Sunday from 12-5pm.

Ali will be back on June 12th for Crafting Herbal Oils and Salves.

The lovely Hilary from will also offer a workshop and will be at the shop on most days, along with Alana and Mel . So so thankful for these amazing women holding it down while I’m away. ❤️❤️❤️

Last but not least come see for the Spring Festival happening May 23 and 24th. So sad I’ll be missing it but so excited that you don’t have to! ☺️

Coming up in two weeks, plus a quick look at April!

Named after one of our favorite teas from Happy Belly, this class is not just about “herbs for ...” but about giving attention to your gut.

The digestive system is complex, highly intelligent and self correcting. When we experience digestive distress it permeates every aspect of our lives, from sleepless nights, to anxiety, to daily discomforts. Our microbiome can influence not just digestion but also our immune function and emotional stability.

Our gut has evolved with our herbal allies for thousands of years. Plants have enabled us to adapt to our food sources and the diverse microcosm of bacteria and viruses that surrounds us. This relationship runs deep and wide!

In this class we will:

🌱Understand the functions of the digestive system and its relationship with the nervous and immune systems
🌱Explore the histortical allyship between our gut/microbiome and our greens
🌱Share herbal protocols and remedies to soothe common digestive ailments
🌱Develop our sense of taste and knowledge of herbal actions

See you there!

Well, it’s still February but spring is right around the corner here somewhere (right?), which means we’re back out there with our green allies.

Spring is all about waking up and re-invigorating our skills, and our rhythm. Each spring we offer classes that focus on digestion, liver function and the essential ecosystem that keeps us strong throughout the year. It’s not so much a spring cleanse as a spring reset into connection.

We’re starting off gently with some medicine making basics: teas and infusions. These are simple preparations with rich and complex benefits. Water based preparations can be simple pleasures, intentional acts of meditation and attention, they can be potent remedies and tasty delights. It all depends on our intention, and having fun with connection, and chemistry.

Come join us and check out the website for our spring classes ❤️.
