Meet Candace Irabli, PsyD.
Supervising Psychologist. Director of HIV Mental Health. She was 18 when she took her first job in a psychiatric hospital, and she's been doing this work ever since. She comes, in her own words, from a long line of helpers.
Years ago, a peer counselor she worked with told a patient who kept pushing help away:
"I'm going to love you until you learn how to love yourself."
Candace has carried that line for nine years. It's how she trains her team. It's how she runs her groups. It's how she sits with every one of her patients.
Because treating HIV was never just about a pill. It's mental health. It's housing. It's food on the table. It's helping people learn they're worth taking care of.

Care is our middle name. Literally.
We opened as AIDS Care Group. A small operation in a one-room office, with one job: care for the people other places turned away.
Then our patients' needs grew, so we did too. Mental health. Dental. Hepatitis C treatment. Opioid recovery. A food pantry. The name on the door became ACG Health.
Look at the middle of it. The Care never moved.
Everything else about us has been allowed to change. That part never will.

There's a vaccine for mpox. Almost nobody explains it.
So here it is, plainly. The mpox vaccine is two doses, about four weeks apart. Protection is strongest a couple of weeks after the second dose.
It's recommended for gay and bis*xual men, other men who have s*x with men, and transgender people with certain risk factors. Not because of who you are. Because of how this virus has spread, and who deserves protection first. Your county health department should have more information on where to get it, and that's who we'll point you to. Knowing where to go is half the barrier, so consider that part handled.

If vaccines reached everyone, August wouldn't need a name.
August is National Immunization Awareness Month. It exists because the distance between who vaccines protect and who actually gets them is still wide. And it's widest in communities like ours.
HPV. Hepatitis A and B. Mpox. The protection exists. The access, the trust, and the straight answers don't always follow it.
This month, we're closing that distance. We'll break down the vaccines nobody explained to you, who they're for, and where to get them. Some we offer. Some we'll point you to. Either way, you leave knowing your next step.

Tomorrow, Mental Health Awareness Month ends. The brands that leaned in for July will go quiet on August 1. The hashtags will fade. The carousels will stop.

Our practice doesn't.

World Hepatitis Day. July 28.

About 2.4 million Americans live with Hep C. Most don't know it. Most won't, until late in the game when the damage is already there.

It doesn't have to be that way.

15 minutes. Most ACG patients pay $0 out of pocket. Walk into any ACG location. Sharon Hill, Chester, or Reading. Or request an appointment if scheduling is easier.

Hep C is curable. A 12-week pill treatment cures most cases. The earlier you catch it, the easier the path back to your baseline.

But there are 5 quiet signs that can show up before liver damage gets serious. Most people brush them off. We're putting them here so you don't have to.

If any of these have been hanging around for a while with no clear reason, ask your provider to run a Hep C test. Or walk into any ACG location for a Hep C test. It takes 15 minutes. Most ACG patients pay nothing out of pocket.

Every intake form tells you what the clinic actually cares about.

Most healthcare forms still ask immigration status, s*xual orientation as a yes/no, gender from a pre-set drop-down, and your reason for visiting in a way that requires you to defend it before you even sit down.

Ours doesn't.

Here are 5 questions we left out of our intake form on purpose. Because the form is the first conversation. And we wanted that conversation to communicate one thing first: you're welcome here.
