" I get to" > " I have to"

We have more choices than we believe we have. The restraints in our lives start within our patterns of thinking. The lightness of our days and the cadence of our steps throughout the day depend upon the quality of thinking we allowing ourselves to maintain. I can fall victim to the overwhelm myself. In moments of not feeling my best I do tend to fall into the "I have to" mentality. This morning I sat down and was thinking of the day ahead. Sleep was not great and some revolving unresolved thought patterns were ready waiting for my consciousness right upon waking. As I sat down and pulled up my patient schedule for the day. The " I have to" immediately turned into " I get to" as I scrolled through the names of all the people I am able to spend time with today.

The sensations in my body shifted and the clarity of my thoughts overall felt exciting rather than daunting. Even the mundane can become exhilarating depending upon how we choose to view what is ahead of us. With a mindset more suitable for supporting a feeling of gratitude the "problems" in your world might very well find their resolve and the doors you didn't see open before appear.

If anyone is feeling like a prisoner to their schedule and have a heaviness when thinking of everything " you have to do" humor me and pause and say" I get to" before everything that is waiting for you today. For, if nothing else, we did " get to" wake up this morning and for many of us fortunate ones we will " get to" wake up tomorrow as well.

I hope you see all your choices today and give yourself permission to enjoy the little things.

Acupuncture is a route on the way back home to self. As I reclined back on my treatment table yesterday the feeling of coming home engulfed my consciousness. The heated table below me, the sensations of the needles I had just placed, the heaviness in my body and the wave of calm that soon took over. In an instant I felt fully myself. I noticed sensations in my body, the rhythm of my breath, and how my thoughts slowed down and found an organized pattern. It's moment like these I realize I am moving too fast in life. The cadence of society doesn't fit the authentic needs of my true self. Ironically, even with realizing the need to pause, be mindful, and slow down, I continue to loop back into a pattern of constant doing rather than being. I find this to be an affliction of the human condition.

This medicine is more than just a single modality in a large webbing of holistic practices, it's a route. A reminder of who you are and what you need. The power to heal is within your body as it is. All it may need is time and awareness to bring it forward out of dormancy.

I am here to hold space and facilitate for you when the call to regulate your nervous system arrives. At some point we all need to make a decision to put ourselves in a setting that allows for our inner voice to be louder than the outside world.

Whats the significance of today?

It’s a Monday and the first day of the month. Two reasons to begin again, to hit the reset button and to set goals and intentions for the new day ahead, the new month ahead, the new season of your life waiting for you.

Open your mind up to more than what can be seen on the surface. So instead of saying “today I plan to drink more water, walk an extra 5,000 steps or eat better”. Set your sights past the level of action into what’s at the root of the desired action. Today I choose to love myself in a way that supports what I envision for myself. Today I choose to give myself grace for anything that might not go the way I planned.

For if we move with fluidity throughout our days, we will allow ourselves to become. Become a person with more grace, more joy and more abundance. For success is not measured by what’s acquired on the outside but rather what’s acquired on the inside.

Grand Rising and Happy Monday!

My time away has been magical and humbling.

It's almost time for my return to the treatment room and to be spending time with all of you. I am very much looking forward to creating avenues for connection and healing once again. It was a long cold winter for everyone in the Adirondacks and its time to warm up and get your Qi moving.

My first official day back is Monday, June 1st.

Grand rising everyone!

For those who do not know, I will be expecting a baby boy in January. I will be starting my maternity leave the beginning of December. I am giving myself time to truly slow down, enjoy the rest of my pregnancy and begin nesting.

My time with you is so very important to me, if you want to be seen or have gifted someone a treatment please reach out to schedule as soon as you can so I can make sure you are seen.

My return date is unknown as this is my first time entering motherhood. I will absolutely keep everyone posted as life unfolds and the unknowns become known.

I just want to remind everyone. Even though I will be away from my office in the future, I am a resource for you and open to Telehealth visits if needed.

Love yourself in way that makes proper nutrition, exercise and mindfulness a nonnegotiable no matter how uncomfortable it can be at times. This journey is for you and the ideal way to show love to yourself and those in your life is to take the very best care of yourself that you can. We don’t need our loved ones to say “ I’d die for you”. How about we hear and say “ I choose to live for you”. Not taking care of yourself is a disservice to yourself and everyone around you. You deserve to thrive.

I hope everyone had a lovely weekend.

The cold tends to cause our bodies to constrict which can lead to increased muscle tension and rigidity.
