At the recent AACS Annual Scientific Meeting, we had the honor of welcoming Dr. Willie Underwood, President-Elect of the American Medical Association, as our keynote speaker.

Congratulations Dr. Shumway as the recipient of the 2026 Webster Lecturer.

Lecturers are recognized by the Cosmetic Surgery Foundation Board of Directors for their contributions to the cosmetic surgery specialty.

Named after Richard Webster, MD, who was referred to as “the father of cosmetic surgery” and was instrumental in the formation of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery (AACS).

As the first AACS President, 1985-1987, his organizational practices reflected his vision of cosmetic surgeons from multiple surgical specialties teaching and learning from one other.
