Kegels alone won’t get you there. 🙅‍♀️

Learning how to activate your pelvic floor is a great starting place — but it shouldn’t be where you stop. The goal is to move quickly into functional exercises. 💪

Here’s why: your pelvic floor is a group of anticipatory muscles. That means they’re supposed to work for you, automatically, before you even think about it — when you sneeze, when you lift your kid, when you’re running to catch the bus. 🏃‍♀️

That only happens when you train them the way you actually use them.

Back to school isn’t just a transition for the kids… our bodies are feeling it too. 😅

New schedules. Earlier mornings. Packed calendars. After-school activities. Trying to get everyone out the door on time. And suddenly we’re expected to have a routine again.

Changes in routine can be a lot for your nervous system, and your pelvic floor is part of that system.

When we’re stressed, rushing, sleeping differently, sitting more, or simply adjusting to a new season, you might notice old symptoms creeping back in:

✨ More pelvic floor tension
✨ Increased urgency or leaking
✨ Constipation or changes in bowel habits
✨ Pelvic, hip, or low back pain
✨ Feeling like your body just can’t quite relax

As the kids head back to school, it might be time to get you back into a routine, too.

If pelvic PT has fallen off your list this summer, consider this your reminder to come back. 💛

Urine Leakage During Pregnancy: Third Trimester Solutions 🤰

Leaking when you cough, sneeze, laugh, or exercise during pregnancy?

It’s common—but that doesn’t mean you just have to live with it.

And no, the answer isn’t always “do more Kegels.”

Urine leakage can be related to:

✨ Increased pressure on your pelvic floor
✨ Changes in your core + breathing
✨ Pelvic floor weakness OR tightness
✨ How your body manages pressure
✨ Pelvic floor coordination

In our newest blog, we break down why bladder leakage happens during pregnancy and what you can actually do about it.

A real postpartum plan doesn’t start with a workout. It starts with an evaluation. 🔍

Someone who actually looks at your body — your strength, your scar tissue, your breathing, your pressure system, all of it — before handing you exercises.

A pelvic floor assessment (external and internal, always with your consent) gives us so much information to build your plan. 🙌

Because guessing isn’t a plan. And a random exercise program you saw online wasn’t built for your body.

That’s the difference a thorough eval with a pelvic floor PT makes. Assess first. Then build something that’s actually yours. ✨

If you’re a new mom and haven’t had a real evaluation yet, that’s where to start. DM us or check the link in bio. 📲

Have you ever noticed this? 👀

Achy. Heavy. Like something's sitting a little too low by the end of the day. 😩

So many pregnant patients tell me the same thing: "I thought this heaviness was just... pregnancy."

Here's the truth 👇
That pressure is common. It is NOT always "normal."

And you deserve answers, not "just wait it out."

In this week's blog, I'm breaking down:
✔️ What pelvic organ prolapse is
✔️ Common (and sneaky subtle) signs during pregnancy
✔️ What's usually causing it
✔️ When to see a pelvic floor PT
✔️ Whether symptoms can improve after birth (yes! 🙌)

If any of this sounds familiar...

One of the biggest fears I hear from pregnant patients is...

"I'm terrified of tearing during labor."

The good news? While there's no way to guarantee you won't tear, there are evidence-based ways to help prepare your body for birth and reduce the risk of more severe tearing.

In our newest blog, we cover:
✨ What actually causes tearing during labor
✨ Why your pelvic floor needs to relax, not just get stronger
✨ Perineal massage: does it really help?
✨ Breathing and pushing strategies
✨ Birth positions that may help reduce pressure on the perineum
✨ How pregnancy pelvic floor physical therapy can help you feel more confident heading into labor

Our goal isn't perfection. It's helping you feel informed, prepared, and confident for whatever your birth experience looks like. 💚

You made it to your 6-week postpartum visit… and your provider says you’re “cleared.” 🎉

But here’s the thing: your body didn’t suddenly heal overnight.

At Envision, we believe postpartum recovery starts before the 6-week checkup. 💚

Gentle movement like:
✨ Walking
✨ Mobility exercises
✨ Deep breathing
✨ Core and pelvic floor connection
✨ Light strengthening (when appropriate)
..can all help support healing, reduce stiffness, improve circulation, and make your transition back to exercise smoother.

The 6-week visit isn’t a starting line—it’s simply one milestone in your recovery.

Every postpartum journey is different, and your movement plan should be too. If you’re unsure what feels safe or appropriate, a pelvic floor PT can help guide you every step of the way.

👇 Did you wait until 6 weeks to move, or were you able to start gentle movement earlier? Tell us about your experience!
