There are vacations, sports schedules, later nights, social events, travel, and more spontaneity overall.

And while that can be fun, many women also start feeling:

more exhausted,
more inflamed,
more anxious,

and more disconnected from the habits that help them feel their best.

The answer usually isn’t more restriction.

It’s remembering that your body still needs support, even during busy seasons.

But recovery matters now more than ever.

Sleep.
Stress.

These are not optional, they’re part of supporting hormones, metabolism, and overall health.

Your body doesn’t only need movement.

It also needs recovery.

This client was eating healthy, exercising regularly, taking supplements, and doing “all the right things”…

…but still dealing with:
anxiety,
overnight waking,
energy dips,
and feeling “off.”

Functional testing revealed:
✔ gut inflammation
✔ cortisol dysregulation
✔ sluggish thyroid patterns
✔ low resilience + recovery capacity

This is why I always say:
Symptoms are communication.
And “fine” is not always optimal.

✨Coaching Tip Of The Week✨

Weight loss is not always just about willpower, calories, or doing more cardio.

If the body is dealing with chronic stress, poor sleep, blood sugar instability, inflammation, hormone imbalances, gut dysfunction, or nutrient deficiencies… it may not prioritize fat loss.

This is why I focus on supporting the body first.

Because sometimes the answer isn’t:
eat less.
exercise more.
push harder.

Sometimes the answer is understanding what’s happening internally and giving the body the support it’s actually asking for.

This is why I always say:
test, don’t guess.

One simple thing I’ve consistently added that I genuinely notice a difference with?

Collagen.

Many women in midlife feel like they’re doing everything “right”…
eating healthy,
working out,
trying harder than ever—
and still gaining weight.

And what’s frustrating is it can feel like your body just stopped responding.

But weight gain is not always about lack of discipline or willpower.

Stress.
Poor sleep.
Blood sugar instability.
Inflammation.
Under-eating.
Muscle loss.
Hormone shifts.
Thyroid function.
Nervous system stress.

These all influence metabolism.

Your body is constantly adapting to what it’s experiencing internally.

This episode of the You in Balance Podcast is not a “just eat less” conversation.

Because you cannot force a stressed, inflamed, under-fueled body to prioritize fat loss.

If you’re constantly reaching for caffeine, feeling “wired but tired,” or thinking about food all day… your body may be asking for more support.

A lot of women assume these symptoms mean:
❌ lack of discipline
❌ low motivation
❌ poor self-control

But often, it’s physiology.

When the body isn’t getting enough fuel, nutrients, or consistent nourishment, it can respond by increasing stress hormones, cravings, energy crashes, and food fixation.

This is one reason I look at things like:
• meal timing
• protein intake
• blood sugar balance
• stress load
• sleep
• gut and hormone health

Your body is always communicating.

The goal isn’t to “push through” the signals, it’s to understand them.

Tired all day… but your brain still won’t shut off at night?

A lot of women are running on stress hormones without realizing it.

Things like:
✨ under-eating
✨ blood sugar crashes
✨ poor sleep
✨ chronic stress
✨ constantly being “on”

can keep the body stuck in survival mode.

So even when you’re exhausted, your nervous system still struggles to fully relax.

Sometimes the answer isn’t pushing harder.
It’s supporting the body better.
