Got to the lake early Saturday morning and hit closure after closure — beach entrances blocked off for races, events, whatever. I couldn’t get in.
Started to get a little grrrr about it. Almost turned around.
Kept going instead. Found a way. Found my spot — a perfect parking spot, right where I needed it.
Life has a funny way of showing up for you when you show up for life. It feels so good!

• I booked it. Flights to Baja, in December. Used miles - didn't need this to be a whole production.
• Doesn't have to be a long trip either. Just enough.
• I'm not a surfer. I've had two lessons total. Don't care.
• Going with friends I actually have something in common with
- adventurous, curious, up for it
without me having to talk anyone into anything. People who know how to play and how to chill, together and on their own.
• Ocean, a board I barely know how to use, and fish tacos.
That's the whole plan.
• Total rejuvenation. Winter's going to feel a lot warmer this year.

• Can you feel it? September’s here, and everything’s shifting.
• For me too. Estate papers signed. A new coat, danced in. A season turning, whether I’m ready or not.
• Two ceremonies coming up before summer’s fully gone: TRANSITION on September 12th at my usual space, and again on September 13th with YogaView Chicago.
• If change is already moving through your life right now — and let’s be honest, it probably is — this is a room built for exactly that.
• DM me for details on the 12th. Registration for YogaView is linked in my bio.

• Early Birds Club — "a dance party for ladies with s**t to do in the morning." Hours: 6-10pm.
Yes, really.
• Thalia Hall, packed with women. All ages, all walks of life.
Dancing.
• The music took me straight back to my design school days, when everything I wore was thrifted. My Doc Martens were my wardrobe staple, and they still are - the only shoe I even considered wearing.
• Some women were fully dressed for the era, themed head to toe. Some came in yoga clothes, straight from wherever their day already was — didn't matter, everyone was just being themselves.
• No pressure or performing, just women dancing, singing, being silly, not caring - because life is too short not to.
• Danced with my friend until we were both just goofy and free. That's the whole story.

• New (very old) coat. First dance in it.
• Heart-sing thing, latest addition - bought to celebrate finishing my estate planning, because apparently that's how I mark big life moments now.
Vintage finds and a little dance outside.
• Adding this one to the lovingly curated pile I'II eventually hand down to my kids. They have no idea what's coming for them.

• Estate planning feels far more grown up than I feel most days. For some people it’s a morbid topic too.
• But last week I signed my papers — health power of attorney, financial power of attorney, everything put in trust.
• Reading through it was some of the most boring legal jargon I’ve ever sat through. Genuinely put me to sleep.
• The meeting itself was light. Happy, even — if that’s even a thing to say about estate planning. But it was, for me.
• It’s not morbid to me. I’m just being as responsible in my transition — in my death — as I try to be in my life. Taking care of my family now means they get to focus on their grief when the time comes, instead of chasing around trying to figure out my world.
• I included my kids in the process. Let them see it, understand where they stand. Not a big secret. And it fell into place perfectly — the responsibilities landed exactly where each of them felt comfortable taking them on.
• I got gussied up for the meeting. Wore a dress I love, something feminine that felt good on my body. Felt alive.
• After, I sat in the sun for a long while, waiting for the music to start at the fountain. Had to leave before it did — couldn’t extend my parking. Kind of like life, honestly.
• Bought an ice cream on the way to my car. Indulged. Appreciated life, and myself, a little more.
• I don’t feel morbid. I feel protected. I feel empowered.

• Two more mornings before fall really sets in.
• September 12th — TRANSITION at my usual space. September 13th — the same theme, held with YogaView Chicago.
• DM me for details on the 12th. Registration for YogaView is linked in my bio.
• Everyone welcome, regardless of belief, body, background, or how you arrived.

• At the farmers market, a woman thought I’d been waited on first. I hadn’t — I was actually there first, paying, when she said it.
• It was just the two of us. No line, no real conflict. But the feeling in her was still storm-strong.
• I told her to go ahead, I could wait. That didn’t soften her — it just let her start talking. Frustrated. Hurt. She said this wasn’t the first time that day. People not seeing her, not for the first time.
• I felt her pain because I’ve been there — maybe not that exact scenario, but that feeling? Many of us know it.
• It wasn’t about me, or that moment. It was bigger. Older.
• This past Saturday, I led my Azul Holding Space Class on the theme of space & spaciousness. As I prepared for it, I explored and created space everywhere in my life.
• I see you. To her, and to every woman who’s had to fight to be seen when all she wanted was room to just exist.

I'm back to the gym today. Leg day.
I feel strong, fluid, and I'm grateful that I'm able to call on my body to do this.
But, I needed something diferent last week. And listened to my intuition, my wise knowing voice in my belly.
I walked outside, danced in community and my kitchen, rested, and attended to a few things
that were calling me.

I felt fulfilled. Still strong, still fluid, and fully aligned in how I moved through my days.
I'm no longer pushing through when something in my life doesn't feel attuned.

There are no explanations to myself or others anymore.
I love my life as a woman in her 50's.
It feels divine.
I'd love to hear what you're listening to in your life.

Something new starts this weekend. Small and quiet, just a few of us.
• I’m holding my first Holding Space spiral tomorrow morning — part of my Azul training, still very much a student.
• More to share after. For now, just excited.
