Regenerate-PD at Rush: A Gene Therapy Study for Parkinson's Disease​

This study tests an experimental gene therapy delivered through brain surgery to see if it can slow or change disease progression. We are currently enrolling adults aged 45-75 years old who are diagnosed with Parkinson's disease within the last 4-10 years, have motor fluctuations and take a stable dose of levodopa. Participation in this study involves follow-ups every 3-6 months and will last about 2 years. You will need to travel out of state for some procedures with all travel related costs covered by the study.​

Back in April, some of our movement disorders providers and team members participated in the American Academy of Neurology Annual Meeting in Chicago. Our neurologists, fellows, and coordinators shared their expertise through poster presentations and talks highlighting their clinical experiences and research in treating movement disorders, while also engaging with peers and learning from the latest advancements across the broader field of neurology!

Opportunities like this help us stay at the forefront of care and bring the most up-to-date, evidence-based treatments back to our patients!

Last week we had the opportunity to celebrate our amazing Movement Disorders nursing team for . Our nurses enjoyed a painting workshop and a delicious lunch with the clinic!​

Our team had a blast as the Huntington's Disease Team Hope Walk in Naperville over the weekend!

With over 620 attendees, we had the pleasure to connect with patients, caregivers, families and friends of those affected by HD and share all the resources Rush has to offer. A big thanks to the
HDSA Illinois Chapter for putting on this event! See you all next year!​

In a few short days, Rush HD Center of Excellence will be walking in the fight against Huntington's Disease! This amazing event put on by the Huntington's Disease Society ofAmerica (HDSA) is an opportunity to bring together patients, families, caregivers and advocates to raise awareness and fund critical research at improving the lives of those affected by Huntington's Disease.​

Even with the windy weather this past Sunday, our Rush Movement Disorders team had an awesome time at the The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research Chicago Run/Walk at Guaranteed Rate Field! We enjoyed connecting with our community and MJFF partners - everyone coming together for exercise, fun and learning. The event welcomed 940 participants and raised over $350,000 for Parkinson's Disease Research!

Looking forward to next year's run/walk - hope to see you all there.
