A slight tremor. Smaller handwriting. Changes in walking, sleep, stiffness, or sense of smell. Parkinson’s disease can begin with subtle signs that are easy to miss, which is why awareness and early education matter.

At our recent Learn on Your Lunch session, participants learned about Parkinson’s disease, including early signs, symptoms, possible causes, treatment options, symptom management, and ways to protect brain health.

Thank you to Dr. Eilrayna Gelyana and Dr. Rebecca Jules from Northwestern Medicine’s Parkinson’s Disease & Movement Disorders Center, and Karen Williams from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, for sharing their expertise on care, research, and community participation.
