My work lives at the intersection of camp and glamour, focusing on strong, vibrant imagery from stylized portraits to illustrative animals.

I’ve called Chicago home for the past 10 years, where being surrounded by so many talented artists continues to inspire me to grow and evolve.

Our artist spotlight this week is:
✨
I’m Gnome and I have been tattooing since 2017. With a foundation in American traditional and Japanese traditional styles, I love to create dynamic designs that tell a story. My favorite designs are inspired by fantasy and sci-fi stories, warriors, esoteric imagery, and human nature, often infused with elements from biomech and blackwork styles. The most important thing to me is getting to know my clients and creating a bold and clean design that suits its wearer.

I’ve been drawing and painting for as long as I can remember but started tattooing in 2008. My style is a mixed bag but mostly consists of illustrative with Japanese and neotraditional influences but I can stick to specific styles when requested. Creative freedom yields my best results.
My life consists of time with my family, feeding my cats Dragon, Daisy, and Joan and petting my fish (Carol Baskfin and John Finlay)

Artist Spotlight:
“Hey there, I’m Rob. I’ve been drawing all my life. Being into metal/punk music and fantasy/scifi at a young age, I became obsessed with art and tattoos. In high school I decided I wanted to tattoo. I focused all my energy on making that happen. I completed a two year apprenticeship and have been in the industry for 20 years.
I enjoy the process as much as the final product. My focus is on large illustrative and Japanese styles, but I enjoy almost all types of tattooing. I love when I client gives me a vague theme or subject matter and let me run with it. Often filling in the gaps with imagery/background that supports the main focus of the piece.
When I’m not working, My time is dedicated to my family. My wife and kids inspire me. We enjoy fishing, biking and creating/building random things.
After two decades, I am still hungry and fueled to learn. I don’t take for granted what tattooing has given me. I get to work with my best buds and some of the most talented people I know everyday. I cherish my clients and all the friendships I’ve made in the industry. Let’s make 2026 a great year.“

“Ho, travelers! You gaze upon he who is called The Wizard, sometimes Big Dawg, or Big Wizzy if you’re nasty. His art is finely honed, but whimsical, and often incorporates elements of fantasy or science fiction. He is nerdy kid trapped in the body of an aging weirdo. When he isn’t playing roleplaying games, he spends a lot of time hanging out with his dog and his wife. He annoys both of them constantly. He has been tattooing for 16 earthly rotations and takes booking through the link in his bio.”

“Hey guys! My name is Allie Marie. I’m an east coast transplant who moved to Chicago after graduating with college. I received a BFA in painting. I specialize and enjoy working in the traditional and illustrative style of tattooing for the past 14 years. I enjoy a range of subject matters but really love doing lady heads, pin-ups, pet portraits, animals and food tattoos! I tattoo both color and black and grey and enjoy working larger with tattooing sleeve work and back pieces. When you get tattooed by me expect some karaoke, comedy and a good time.
