Momentum continues to build for the Access to Genetic Counselor Services Act!

Thank you to Representatives Representative Mike Kelly, Mike Quigley, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Congresswoman Frederica Wilson, Congressman Don Bacon, Congressman John Rutherford and Rep. James Walkinshaw for recently co-sponsoring H.R. 6280.

What helps genetic counselors feel empowered in patient-facing roles? A new study of genetic counselors in Canada found that supportive workplace culture and working at the top of one's scope were linked with greater professional empowerment.

The findings also suggest that empowerment may strengthen genetic counselors’ ability to apply their expertise to support patient care.

Multicancer early detection tests can screen for signs of several cancers with one blood test. They also come with limits that can make results hard to interpret.

Genetic counselors can help people understand what MCED testing can and cannot tell them. They can also support patients before and after testing.
