🎗️ September is Gynecologic Cancer Awareness Month!

When we hear the word “cancer,” we may not always think about the cancers that can affect the female reproductive system. But gynecologic cancers can affect different parts of the body and knowing the basics matters.

We’re breaking down the 5 main types of gynecologic cancer, signs to look out for, risk factors, and what you should know about screening.

Take a few minutes to swipe through, learn something new, and share this with a woman in your life.

Sometimes, you just need someone to remind you: Your health matters, too.

We asked one community member why they came to our Mobile Mammography & Community Health Screenings Event. Their answer is a powerful reminder of the importance of making time for preventive care.

There’s still time to get screened!

Tomorrow is the final day:
📅 September 4
⏰ 8:30 AM–4:00 PM
📍 1301 N. Humboldt Dr., Chicago

Come out, get screened, and take a step toward your health.

Remembering the legacy of Dr. Harold P. Freeman.

After completing his residency at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in 1968, Dr. Freeman returned to Harlem and saw firsthand how barriers to care were contributing to cancer disparities. He asked a powerful question: Why were patients coming to care too late?

His answer transformed cancer care. Dr. Freeman pioneered the patient navigation model to help people overcome barriers and reach the care they needed.

His vision continues to guide Equal Hope’s work to advance cancer equity, remove barriers, and connect communities to care.

We are honored to carry his legacy forward and grateful for the lasting impact of his work. 🕊️
