I always find inspiration in the teachers I choose to work with and learn from - and today’s post is no different.
Recently, I was listening to one of my beloved mentors, Isabel Adkins, with whom I’ve trained in Oncology Massage and am currently deepening my connection to acupressure and Traditional Chinese Medicine. In a recent class, where we explored the gallbladder meridian and its interplay with the other meridians, she spoke of something I won’t quote verbatim - but the essence was this: there is a sense of boldness in the pause.
When we take a break. When we stop. Especially in a world that is constantly beckoning us to do the opposite - to keep doing more, being more, producing more, consuming more. When you pause and declare that time for yourself, to bring your whole being into alignment and integration - especially before stepping into a new chapter - it is incredibly important. For your whole being. For your health.
And so today, I’m sharing a pause that I am proactively taking - because, like you, I too am on my own healing path - and the only way I can bring the best of myself to our work together is when I take good care of myself first.
At any rate, today wasn’t an easy decision. I have so many wonderful opportunities right now - to connect with family and loved ones, to show up in my work - and yet everything in me was saying: stop. Reset your nervous system. Integrate all that you’ve been experiencing, so that when you do walk back into the world, you can do so from a more aligned, clearer, healthier place.
I’d love to hear about your experience of the pause. Feel free to share in the comments below.
And yes - I am using the filter. I was very curious😜.
Until next time, be well and take good care of you.
