Next week, I’ll be joining an incredible group of women - and guest facilitating - at Legacy Live, and I’m genuinely so excited for what’s going to unfold over those two days.

There’s something really powerful about intentionally stepping away from the noise of everyday life to gather with women who are committed to leading with courage, telling the truth about their stories, and creating a legacy that truly reflects who they are.

That’s why I wanted to share this experience with you.

Legacy Live is a two-day immersive retreat led by my friend and mentor, Ashley Burnett | Women's Business & Leadership Coach, designed for women who are ready to reconnect with themselves, deepen their leadership, and step more fully into the life they’re here to create.

Over the weekend, you’ll...
✨ Reconnect with your authentic voice and leadership.
✨ Release the stories and beliefs that have kept you playing small.
✨ Experience transformational coaching, embodied practices, and meaningful conversations.
✨ Build genuine connections with women who will champion your growth long after the retreat ends.
✨ Leave with greater clarity, confidence, and a deeper connection to the legacy you’re here to create.

Legacy Live is happening September 18–19 in Chicago, and I’d absolutely love to experience it with you. DM me for details or check out 🔗 in bio💫

I’ve seen it over and over again.

Clients coming into their sessions, sharing with me that they kept trying to “dig out the tension”, only to come in feeling worse for wear.

There is a reason for that.

When your fascia is trying to protect the tissue and organs that it surrounds. It’s going to hunker down to try to protect those regions when you are using outside force to try to dig out the tension.

Instead, when you allow yourself to sink into the therapy tool of choice (ie your foam roller, tennis ball or the like), that allows an invitation for your fascia to release.

When you hold that sink for up to five minutes, that gives your fascia time to respond to that invitation and let go as it allows you to melt into the tissue, releasing the tension.

In today’s reel, I demonstrate what that could metaphorically look like with a classic cornstarch demonstration.

In the meantime, if you wish to learn more about how to effectively release your Myofascial system, I highly recommend stepping into my🔗 in bio and check out The Fluid Fascia program - a Myofascial Release library of techniques to you effectively release tension in your fascial system.

This Labor Day weekend, I am offering you 20% off of the program. Just use the discount code SOMA20 at checkout.

Until next time:
Sink and soften.
Don’t push and aggravate.

Let me know how goes in the comments below.

Until next time be well, and take good care of you.

Morning is me time.

And if I don’t get that time, watch out!

It’s the time where I get to connect with myself. Through movement, through writing, through meditating. However, I feel called to start my day.

It helps me center myself and connect with my spirit before I step out into the world and engage with others. It’s essential for me to walk through the world, knowing who I am.

Trusting how I feel, trusting what I notice.

Feeling connected to my body.

I’m curious, what is your time of day?

The time of day that’s carved out for you, even if it’s just for five minutes to step away from the hustle, center yourself, and come back to you. Let me know in the comments below.

Till next time, be well, take good care of you, and make sure you carve out some time for yourself each day.

You met them. Something felt off.

You talked yourself out of it anyway.

Sound familiar?

Your body is always talking to you.
That gut feeling.
That tight shoulder.
That headache.
That wave of nausea.

Even the pleasant sensations are information.

But you were taught to override it. Logic has its place - but somewhere along the way you learned to trust your head over your gut.

That’s not your fault.

So you look outside yourself for answers.

More opinions.
More googling.

But the wisdom you’re chasing is already inside you.

Here’s the shift:
Pause.
Feel the signal.
Listen.
Then move.
That’s the whole practice.

When you’re in pain, you ask, “Why is my body doing this to me?” Try this instead: “What is my body doing for me?”

Next time you get a gut hit - meeting someone new, walking into a room, whatever it is - don’t dismiss it. Just pause.

The pause is the relationship. “I hear you, body. I’ll figure out what you’re saying. Thank you for talking to me.”

The more you listen, the more you’ll trust the guru in your own cells.

What’s a gut feeling you ignored and later wished you hadn’t? Please share in the comments below.

Until next time, be well and take good care of you.

At what point does your healing become your responsibility?

Honestly?

Right from the get-go.

Now, I’m not saying that to take anything away from practitioners - the people guiding you through this work with real intention. But it starts with you. From the very beginning.

Here’s what I mean. Notice how you feel around the person you’re working with. That’s it. That’s the starting point.

If you’re more of a logical thinker and “how do I feel” doesn’t quite land, that’s totally fine. Look at their credentials instead. How many years have they been doing this? What’s their actual training? Not just years of experience - the foundation underneath it.

Because that part - choosing who you trust - that’s on you. As the client. The student. The receiver.

And here’s the beautiful thing: once you own that piece, you get to actually relax into the relationship. Your practitioner does what they’re trained to do, and you receive it.

But if they hand you homework - self-care between sessions, integration work after a retreat- that’s yours to run with. Not theirs. Yours.

And I’ve watched this happen over and over - people heal their deepest wounds the moment they take that on. Because healing isn’t happening in me. It’s happening in you. I’m just walking alongside you.

Now, I know this can feel a little uncomfortable to hear - especially right now, when so many people are just desperate for someone, anyone, to help them. And look, there are a lot of us out here trying to do that.
But please - don’t let that need drown out what you already feel. What your gut already knows.

I bring this up because I’m seeing so much disillusionment right now - in the spiritual space, the wellness space - people feeling let down by practitioners and teachers.

So just...listen to yourself. Listen to your body. Listen to the wisdom in every single cell of your being. Listen. Listen. Listen.

Let me know what shifts for you as you keep walking this path.

Until next time, be well and take good care of you.

Appreciating beauty can be healing.

Take a moment - gaze upon these flowers from the farmer’s market.

How do you feel as you look at them?

It might bring up wonderful emotions. And it might also stir up some things that aren’t exactly pleasant.

So many of us are focused on what we need to fix, what we need to heal, that we forget to live in the process.

And part of living is appreciating what’s beautiful in our world - what stops us in our tracks and makes us want to pause, gaze, or savor what’s pleasurable to us.

So, may you take the rest of your weekend and allow yourself to gaze upon what is beautiful to you.

What is pleasurable for you?

And even if it brings up some discomfort - guilt or shame around allowing yourself to feel pleasure - be gentle with what you notice. Reach out for support, if able and needed.

Let the beauty of this world bring you back into the present moment.

And remember: you are more than a healing journey. You are a human being, here to experience the fullness of life.

Let me know how it goes for you in the comments below.

Until next time - be well, and take good care of you.

Once upon a time, the words “Let your work reach beyond your hands” came into my mind’s eye.

After more than twenty years of one-on-one work behind closed doors, I wasn’t sure how to make those words real.

Then one day, scrolling online, I happened upon Ashley Burnett | Women's Business & Leadership Coach website. Ashley and I used to dance together in Chicago back in my days at Columbia College, and shortly thereafter. I was so intrigued by the work she was doing with her business at the time, Strong Body Love, that I reached out to reconnect and find out what magic she was bringing to her life and her business.

Shortly after that, I enrolled in her Uninhibited Mastermind.

That’s when the magic started to happen for me. The vision of letting my work reach beyond my hands became clearer through my work with Ashley. It turned into myofascial release workshops and women’s circles. And lo and behold, my work started to reach beyond my hands.

Ashley and I kept in touch, and during the pandemic she was pivotal in helping me pivot my practice from in-person work to online experiences: virtual workshops, a half-day virtual retreat, and even my first mini e-book. All of it happened with her help and guidance.

My work with her has changed me and my practice in countless ways, and my confidence as an entrepreneur has soared because of my time with her.

I am delighted to share that she will be coming here to Chicago, right in your backyard, for the Legacy Live Retreat on September 18–19.

She has invited me to be one of the presenters, where I will be speaking on Embodied Expansion: Building Your Capacity to Be Seen. Through somatic practices, we will help you boldly embody who you are as you expand the reach of the work you do.
I truly hope you’ll join me.

There’s a reason I’m sharing this story of how I wiped out on a concrete sidewalk this past weekend, on a date night with my husband.

The purpose is to help you learn how to listen to your body.

And if you’re already listening to your body and heeding its messages, perhaps this will even deepen that relationship - you listening to you.

Your body is sending signals to you all the time. Yet living in this produce, produce, produce culture, you are so accustomed to ignoring those signals.

Don’t get me wrong. Sometimes real life won’t allow you to pause, for necessary reasons.

And yet, even in the moments when you do have time to pause, listen to what your body is saying, and make healthier choices from there…you often don’t.

Because your nervous system is so accustomed to go, go, go. Ignore, ignore, ignore.

In today’s reel, I’m sharing how the power of the pause can be the turning point to cultivating a better relationship with your body.

The power of the pause after you feel sensations that are displeasing to you - sensations coming from your body.

It’s within that pause that you have an opportunity to listen. And to make a choice that is best for you and your body.

It’s not always easy, as I share in this real-life example in the video.

When those times are not easy - when it’s hard to pull back and do what’s best for your body - the mind will often scream the loudest.

And yet the more you cultivate that relationship of listening to your body, the easier it becomes, and the less loud that voice in your head is going to be.

I’m curious to hear about your real-life experiences listening to your body.

And if you haven’t started yet, and you’re just beginning that journey: be gentle with yourself.

There are going to be two-steps-forward, one-step-back experiences as you learn how to heed the messages from your own body, and the wisdom it has to share with you. Be gentle with yourself.

Let me know how it goes in the comments below.

Until next time, be well and take good care of you.
