What children eat at school directly shapes how they learn, grow, and perform each day. Advocating for better school meals is an investment in every child’s future and we do that through the More Plants On Plates initiative.
https://MorePlantsOnPlatesUSA.org

We need your help to grow and create cafeteria environments that support more children. Improvements in school food programs and creating learning spaces where health and education work hand in hand require attention.

Nutritious meals are not an optional upgrade to education, they are a core part of it. When schools prioritize fresh, whole foods, students are better able to focus, retain information, and sustain energy throughout the day. Food becomes part of the learning environment, not separate from it.

The way children eat today shapes how they think, learn, and grow tomorrow. Plant-powered meals help make growing healthy and strong easy for children. Nutritious, delicious foods are what we share at Plant Based Nutrition Movement.

We actively collaborate as part of the More Plants On Plates USA initiative and we have kid-friendly recipes on our website. Want more options for home, check out our recipes, like BANANA PANCAKES at:
https://pbnm.org/resources/recipes

Nutritious, plant centered meals fuel focus, support emotional balance, and build the foundation for lifelong wellness. When families and schools prioritize whole foods, they are not only feeding bodies but also nurturing minds that are ready to explore, create, and thrive.

Start with what is on the plate. Help a child build healthy habits that support clear thinking, steady energy, and a brighter future.

For children and families everywhere.

When families and communities speak up, schools listen, and meaningful change begins to take shape one cafeteria at a time… from K-12 and on college and university campuses.

School meals for children should be a reflection of care, inclusion, and health. Plant based options in schools are more than being about preference, they are about access, equity, and giving every student the opportunity to thrive having the best in nutrition.

The movement is already growing, with more schools introducing plant based options and more families asking for better choices. Now is the time to add your voice and help build momentum for the next school year and beyond.

This woman is experiencing a sickle cell crisis, where blood vessels are blocked, depriving organs and tissues of vital blood.

The pain can last hours or days, signifying potential tissue or organ death. We must raise awareness about sickle cell disease and advocate for increased funding for research and treatment. Support sickle cell warriors in their fight for a better healthcare system. Please share this message.

What we teach about food shapes far more than a plate. It shapes how Sickle Cell Warriors understand their bodies, their choices, and their role in a larger community. https://pbnm.org/sickle-cell-warriors-20261

Even though Warriors are often misunderstood with serious consequences and are self-isolating for many reasons, there’s a tool most aren’t focused on for relief—using food as medicine.

We aim to change that because the nutrition education in our CULINARY MEDICINE for SICKLE CELL WARRIORS 4-week program is a bridge between knowledge and empowerment.
https://pbnm.org/sickle-cell-warriors-20261

When Warrior children, adults, families, and professionals learn how food affects energy, focus, long term health, and even the environment, meals become moments of intention instead of routine and your kitchen becomes a haven of health. Food becomes a tool for care, prevention, and connection.

That’s why PBNM is bringing this program to Chicago for 4 powerful Saturdays of hands-on learning, real food, real cooking, and real community. Bring your support partner because Warrior health is a team sport.

An interesting point worth discussing is the addictive nature of cheese. The compound casomorphine present in cheese activates pleasure receptors in our brains, which explains the common sentiment of affection towards it. However, choosing to eliminate cheese from my diet has proven to be one of the most empowering decisions I have made.
