When healthcare teams work together around a shared goal, meaningful improvements are possible.

The Vermont Department of Corrections and Wellpath partnered on a statewide initiative to strengthen how stimulant medications for ADHD are prescribed across correctional facilities.

Through provider education, standardized clinical guidelines, and ongoing quality monitoring, the program improved consistency in care while maintaining access for patients who needed treatment.

The results were significant: a 56% reduction in stimulant prescribing rates within one year, reflecting better alignment with clinical standards and increased patient safety.

This initiative demonstrates the power of collaboration, education, and data-driven decision making to improve healthcare outcomes.
